Football Accumulator Tips: Fine wine Rioja to threaten in 18/1 Monday five-fold

I was close to landing an 8/1 winner in my latest Football Accumulator Tips last Wednesday, with my first four selections coming through, only for Santos to spoil the party just before the finish line. Undeterred, I head back to Brazil for three of Monday's five picks, after one selection apiece in England and Spain.

West Ham United (H) Most Shots vs Brentford (20:00, Sky Sports Main Event) @ 4/6
After two games in charge, Nuno Espirito Santo remains without a win as West Ham head coach, but in fairness to the former Wolves, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest boss, he's yet to experience a home match, drawing his first contest 1-1 at Everton and losing the second 2-0 at Arsenal.
A visit from Brentford on Monday provides Nuno with a great opportunity to secure his first three points as Irons manager, with the Bees losing all three Premier League away games under Keith Andrews, who replaced Thomas Frank during the summer.
In all three of those away trips, including their 3-1 opening weekend defeat at Forest, who, at the time, were managed by Nuno, Brentford recorded fewer shots than their hosts. They also shot fewer times than AFC Bournemouth in their 2-0 Carabao Cup victory at the Vitality Stadium on August 26.
West Ham lost the shot count in their last two home games under Graham Potter, a 3-0 defeat to Spurs and a 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace, but even in a 5-1 hammering to Chelsea on August 22, they matched their London rivals' shot tally of 12.
Nuno teams aren't necessarily known for keeping the ball, but that doesn't mean his players don't attack with urgency, and both times Brentford played his Forest side last season, the Bees finished with fewer shots to their name.
In his first home game as Irons head coach, I expect West Ham to be up for this one, looking for the win, so I'm backing the hosts to record the most shots at London Stadium.
Luis Rioja (VAL) 1+ Shots on Target in Alaves vs Valencia (20:00, Premier Sports 1) @ 6/4
Valencia winger Luis Rioja spent six seasons at Alaves, notably scoring 10 goals in Babazorros' promotion-winning campaign in 2022/23. He then helped the club to a 10th-place finish in La Liga, netting five times and providing four assists before sealing a move to Los Che in the summer of 2024.
The 32-year-old scored five goals in 36 Spanish top-flight outings last season, including one effort against his former club in a 2-2 draw at the Mestalla on December 22.
Rioja didn't get on the scoresheet in May's reverse fixture as Alaves secured a 1-0 victory, but he did force goalkeeper Antonio Sivera into a save inside the first 60 seconds.
The Spaniard averaged 0.4 shots on target per game in La Liga last term, and while he's only managed one on target in eight league appearances (seven starts), it came away to Barcelona in a 6-0 defeat.
Against his former employers at the Estadio Mendizorrotza, I'm backing Rioja to register a shot on target for a third head-to-head in a row.

Both Teams To Score in Juventude vs Red Bull Bragantino (23:00) @ 5/6
Brazilian Serie A strugglers Juventude are 19th in the 20-team table and are winless in their last seven games (D2, L5). They look like certainties for relegation, but they might fancy their chances of ending their rotten run without a victory at the Estadio Alfredo Jaconi against a Bragantino side that has only won one of their last seven (D3, L3) and has lost seven of their last eight away games in the league (D1).
One thing Bragantino can hang their hat on, though, is their ability to score. They've found the net in their last eight games, four of which have come away, and both teams to score has landed in seven (all four away). Bragantino are joint-second in the Serie A BTTS table, with both teams finding the net in 64% (18) of their 28 games (71% away).
Juventude (39%) are third-bottom of the BTTS table, but 50% of their home games have finished with both teams scoring, including three of their last four.
Vasco da Gama or Draw (H) vs Fluminense (23:30) @ 1/2
Fluminense are five points above Vasco, having played a game fewer, yet it's their hosts at San Januario who I am backing to avoid defeat.
Vasco have only lost one of their last eight league matches (W5, D2), and that was a 3-0 defeat away to league leaders Palmeiras on October 1. At home, they are unbeaten since August 24, winning their last three.
Flu, meanwhile, are poor travellers, winning just three of their 14 away league matches (D4, L7) and just once since beating Internacional 2-0 on June 2.
Over 57.5 Booking Points in Santos vs Vitoria (Tue 01:30) @ 8/11
Two sides battling relegation, Santos and Vitoria, face off at the Estadio Urbano Caldeira. Hosts Santos are 16th, just one place and three points ahead of Vitoria (17th), who occupy the final relegation spot, although they do possess a game in hand on their rivals.
Santos won May's reverse fixture 1-0 in Salvador, where four yellow cards - amounting to 40 booking points - were produced, three (30 booking points) in Vitoria's direction, and one (10 booking points) in Santos'.
With both now entrenched in a relegation battle, I'm expecting more fireworks in their second meeting of 2025.
At least 60 booking points have been issued - before the final whistle - in Santos' last six home games, while three of Vitoria's last six away matches have seen at least 60 awarded, and they've received a red card in three of their last five matches, home or away, including their last two.
Only Corinthians (87) have picked up more yellows in Serie A this season than Vitoria (79), and they are joint-first for reds (seven), alongside Fortaleza.
