Football Accumulator Tips: 173/1 Acca for Friday’s action

It may be the international break but that doesn’t mean our Football Accumulator Tips stop. This Friday, we’ve got a glut of European World Cup qualifiers taking place, as well as some club football from around the globe.

Football Odds

Switzerland (A) to beat Sweden (19:45) @ 2/1

I’ve made a few bold selections for this Friday’s Football Accumulator, which has delivered us a massive price, but I think it’s worth taking a punt during the international break. I’ll start by backing everybody’s favourite neutral country - Switzerland - to secure an away win against Sweden. 

They are the underdogs for this game, but have made a perfect start to qualifying with two wins out of two, seven goals scored and zero conceded. A 4-0 and a 3-0 win against Kosovo and Slovenia respectively have put them in a great position to qualify from Group B, while Sweden have just one point to their name having lost 2-0 to Kosovo and drawn 2-2 with Slovenia. 

With Anthony Elanga, Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak, there’s always lots of excitement about Sweden. But those players haven’t been able to gel and the results on the pitch haven’t been good enough. An away win would put the cat amongst the pigeons for Sweden’s World Cup qualification hopes.

Belgium (H) to beat North Macedonia and BTTS (19:45) @ 23/10

Belgium and North Macedonia are in a colossal tussle at the top of Group J with the away side currently one point clear of both Belgium and Wales. With only one automatic qualification spot up for grabs, this game is crucial, and I will back Rudi Garcia’s men to get the job done. 

Their squad is full of quality with Kevin De Bruyne, Jeremy Doku, and Leandro Trossard all included, and while North Macedonia have been competitive, they still have to face Belgium and Wales away from home. The reverse fixture ended 1-1, so let’s back both teams to score again - this time with Belgium getting a vital three points.

Germany (H) to beat Luxembourg with -2 handicap (19:45) @ 8/15

Don’t think this one requires too much explanation. Germany suffered a shock 2-0 loss to Slovakia in their opening qualifier but bounced back with a 3-1 win over Northern Ireland. They have a home game against a Luxembourg outfit that are a poor side - having lost four of their last five. Comfortable home win expected. 

Slovakia (A) to beat Northern Ireland @ 11/5

Northern Ireland have some work to do if they are to make it to the World Cup under Michael O’Neill, having won one and lost one so far. A home test against Slovakia will tell us a lot about them, but the visitors have won two from two so far, and are yet to concede in Group A. 

A 2-0 win over Germany was particularly eye-catching, with new Middlesbrough striker David Strelec emerging as a key figure for Italian manager Francesco Calzona. Although I like a lot of this Northern Ireland squad, Slovakia have proven themselves to be very tough to beat, and an away win looks to be a big price. 

Deportivo Recoleta (H) to beat Club Olimpia @ 13/5

To the Paraguayan Primera Division now, my favourite South American top division. I feel there’s some value to be had here as Deportivo Recoleta host Club Olimpia. Deportivo Recoleta currently sit sixth in the league, and have won three of their last five games, while they are unbeaten in their last three at home. 

Visitors Club Olimpia are the favourites, but they sit eighth in the Clausura and their recent away win at 10-man Atletico Tembetary ended a run of four defeats on the bounce away from home. I think this is a much closer match-up than the odds suggest, so am going to plump for the home side on balance.
