Lincoln City (H) to beat Burton Albion (20:00) @ 3/5

Lincoln are flying in League 1 this season, and they currently sit second in the third tier, with automatic promotion a serious possibility. The Imps are three points clear of Bradford in third, but the Bantams have a game in hand, so this promotion race is set to go right down to the wire.

Burton, meanwhile, are in a relegation scrap and sit 19th in the league, after a win over Huddersfield Town lifted them away from danger. Despite that recent performance, I’m backing the home side to get the job done on Wednesday night.

Rangers (H) to beat Ludogorets (20:00) @ 9/10

Danny Rohl has made quite the impact at Ibrox, having replaced Russell Martin in October, and the Gers are just six points behind Hearts in the title race. They aren’t doing well in Europe, with just one point from six Europa League outings, but they will fancy their chances at home to Ludogorets.

The Hungarian side have picked up seven Europa League points and stand a chance at qualifying for the knockouts, but they have been on their winter break, and I think they will come up short in Scotland.

Nice (H) to beat Go Ahead Eagles @ 5/6

We stay in the Europa League, where Nice host Go Ahead Eagles. The French outfit will be hoping to give their season a boost, as they’ve endured a turbulent Europa League campaign, losing six out of six so far - so why on earth am I backing them to win?

Well, the pressure is off, and they host a Go Ahead Eagles outfit that sit 13th in the Eredivisie and are 28th in the Europa League table. Franck Haise was sacked at the end of December and replaced by Claude Puel, and I am expecting an upturn in results at some point, so let’s start with this one.

Roma (H) to beat Stuttgart @ 19/20

Italian giant Roma face Stuttgart in a gargantuan clash, with the home side currently on the brink of the top eight. They’ve won their last three on the bounce in this competition and Gian Piero Gasperini has them fourth in Serie A, just seven points behind the leaders

They are looking good right now, and Stuttgart, fourth in the Bundesliga, will provide a tough test, as they sit one place above Roma in the Europa League. Ultimately, I’m hoping home advantage will pay in this one.

Bologna (H) to beat Celtic @ 8/15

Celtic were dreadful under Wilfried Nancy, and although he has now departed, they face a really tough test away at Bologna on Thursday night. Bologna sit 13th in the Europa League table but are unbeaten in their last five in this competition, whereas Celtic are fighting for their tournament lives in 24th.

Martin O’Neill will hope to drag them forward, and they have improved recently, but the Italians are a step up on anyone they face domestically.
