Football Acca Tips: 586/1 Premier League cards five-fold

Last weekend’s 469/1 Premier League cards acca showed plenty of promise, with two of the five selections, Arthur Masuaku and Joelinton, earning yellows, while Moises Caicedo was lucky not to receive a red following an off-the-ball incident. Meanwhile, Tyler Adams avoided a booking, but his replacement, Eli Junior Kroupi, was cautioned, and the fifth selection, Toti, didn’t start for Wolves.
I return this week with another five Premier League players to consider in the card market. Below are my Football Acca Tips for Gameweek 7…

Trai Hume (Manchester United vs Sunderland, Sat 15:00) @ 13/5
Sunderland right-back Trai Hume has been a regular in referee notebooks over the last couple of seasons, receiving 14 yellows and one red across the 2023/24 EFL Championship campaign, before being issued 12 cards (11 yellow, one red) in 2024/25.
The Northern Ireland international has managed to avoid a caution so far in the Premier League, but one of his two fouls came in last Saturday’s 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest, where he took down foul-magnet Elliot Anderson in the 56th minute.
On Saturday, Hume is likely to be in regular contact with another fouls-won merchant, Manchester United wing-back Patrick Dorgu, who averaged 2.3 fouls won per game in last season’s Premier League, and is averaging 3.4 fouls won per game in 2025/26.
Dorgu was taken down five times in last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Brentford, and he could pose Hume a few problems at Old Trafford.
Romeo Lavia (Chelsea vs Liverpool, Sat 17:30) @ 2/1
After featuring for the first time this season as a late substitute in last Saturday's 3-1 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, and remaining rooted to the bench on Tuesday as Chelsea beat Benfica 1-0 in the Uefa Champions League, Belgian midfielder Romeo Lavia is in line to make his first start of the campaign against Liverpool on Saturday.
The 21-year-old has endured two injury-afflicted seasons with the Blues, and his start to the current campaign wasn't exactly encouraging.
But Lavia is now back involved, and he returns with his side suffering something of an injury crisis, with Cole Palmer, Andrey Santos and Dario Essugo, who all play in midfield/attacking midfield, are unlikely to be available this weekend.
With Chelsea in midweek action against Benfica, head coach Enzo Maresca may take the opportunity to rotate on Saturday, and Lavia could be someone he brings in to freshen up in the middle of the park.
Lavia was shown nine yellows in 29 appearances (26 starts) for Southampton during his maiden Premier League campaign in 2022/23, and was booked four times in 16 competition outings (11 starts) for the Blues last season.
The former Manchester City man, who Liverpool chased in the summer of 2023 before he decided on a move to west London, will likely be in a midfield battle on Saturday with Reds star Ryan Gravenberch, who was fouled, on average, 1.4 times per game in last season's top flight, and is averaging 1.2 fouls won per game this term.

Florentino Luis (Aston Villa vs Burnley, Sun 14:00) @ 13/5
Burnley midfielder Florentino Luis, on loan from Portuguese giants Benfica, picked up a yellow in his first start for the Clarets, the 1-1 home draw with Nottingham Forest on September 20. He then made two fouls in his next appearance, last Saturday’s 5-1 hammering at Manchester City.
The 26-year-old averaged 1.4 fouls per game in last season’s Liga Portugal, receiving seven yellows in 26 matches (24 starts), which actually marked an improvement on 2023/24, when he was issued eight yellows and averaged 1.1 fouls per game, despite 13 of his 30 outings coming from the bench.
Florentino was also cautioned three times in nine Champions League appearances in 2024/25, and after being booked in one of his two Fifa Club World Cup outings in the summer, he was sent off for two yellows in Benfica’s goalless draw with Fenerbache in the first leg of their Champions League play-off tie on August 20.
With John McGinn and Morgan Rogers likely starting for Aston Villa on Sunday, Florentino looks like the standout candidate to go into the referee’s notebook.
McGinn, whose fouled-per-game average in a Premier League season has never gone lower than 1.9 (two per game in the last two full campaigns), has been upended nine times in his last five competition appearances, with Fulham defender Calvin Bassey booked in the Cottagers’ 3-1 defeat at Villa Park last Sunday for stopping the Scotland international on the counter-attack.
Fulham midfielder Sasa Lukic was also shown a yellow in that match for unfairly challenging Rogers, who averaged 1.4 fouls won per game last season and has been taken down six times across his last five Premier League matches.
Daniel Munoz (Everton vs Crystal Palace, Sun 14:00) @ 13/5
A Premier League cards acca isn’t complete these days without backing whoever is marking Jack Grealish. The Everton winger, on loan from Man City, has been fouled a league-high 22 times this season, all of which have come in his last five appearances after beginning the opening-weekend defeat at Leeds United on the bench.
Grealish has drawn a yellow-card challenge in each of his last four appearances across all competitions, including the 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Wolves at Molineux, where he was only introduced in the 59th minute, but was taken down five times.
Two right-backs, Villa’s Matty Cash and West Ham United’s Kyle Walker-Peters, as well as right-sided Wolves centre-back Santiago Bueno and Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who spent most of September’s Merseyside derby on the right-hand side, were all cautioned for fouling Grealish, so picking out a player who spends a lot of time down his side of the pitch makes a lot of sense when it comes to the card markets.
With Crystal Palace pitching up at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday, I’m drawn to right-sided centre-back Chris Richards and right wing-back Daniel Munoz.
It’s Munoz who wins this battle, having picked up 10 yellows compared to Richards’ four (and one red) in last season’s Premier League.
Munoz, averaging 1.2 fouls per game this term, six times that of Richards (0.2 per game), has been booked in two of his six league appearances this season (Richards - zero).
Perhaps more important to consider for this match-up, though, is Man City’s 4-2 victory at Selhurst Park in April last year, when Grealish was fouled three times - twice by Munoz. That was the England international’s last start against the Eagles, so it will be intriguing to see how Munoz deals with him this weekend. Like many others before him, I think the Colombian will be tricked into a yellow-card worthy challenge.

Michael Kayode (Brentford vs Manchester City, Sun 16:30) @ 16/5
Like Grealish, Man City’s Jeremy Doku is a tough man to stop on the left wing, with many opponents having to resort to fouling the Belgian to stop him racing away and crossing the ball into Erling Haaland.
The 23-year-old has been upended nine times across his last three Premier League appearances, with Arsenal right-back Jurrien Timber and Burnley winger Jaidon Anthony both booked for fouling Doku - Timber’s yellow was called in this column two weeks ago. Burnley right-back Kyle Walker was also cautioned last weekend, although his offence was committed against Phil Foden.
Doku’s direct opponent at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday is likely to be Italian right-back Michael Kayode, who received 16 yellows and three reds across two league campaigns with Fiorentina’s U19s before transitioning to the first team and earning a move to Brentford earlier this year.
Kayode made only six Premier League starts during the second half of last season, was booked twice, and, despite avoiding a yellow card so far this term, is averaging a foul per game.
The 21-year-old was whistled twice against Man United last weekend, with his first foul committed against Red Devils left wing-back Dorgu, and the second on their left-sided No. 10, Matheus Cunha.
Doku has drawn a yellow from an opponent in his last three City appearances, and could make Kayode victim number four in west London.
