Moises Caicedo (Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea, Sat 12:30) @ 2/1

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has been shown three yellow cards in six career appearances against Nottingham Forest. His first booking against the Garibaldi came for his former club Brighton & Hove Albion, and he was cautioned for Chelsea in both head-to-heads last season.

In a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge last October, he committed three fouls, two against Ryan Yates, and one against Morgan Gibbs-White, and it was the offence on the latter which saw him scribbled in the referee’s notebook.

In the Blues’ 1-0 win at the City Ground in May, the Ecuador international was cautioned in the 56th minute for a foul on Anthony Elanga, having already upended Gibbs-White in the first half.

Football Odds

Forest have a few players who can tempt opponents into unfair challenges, chiefly Elliot Anderson, who has been fouled 15 times in the Premier League this season - only Everton’s Jack Grealish (26), Newcastle United's Bruno Guimaraes (19) and Manchester United’s Patrick Dorgu (18) have been taken down more.

There’s also Yates, Gibbs-White and Dan Ndoye to consider. Yates averaged 1.4 fouls won per game in the top tier last season, despite only 18 of his 35 appearances coming as a starter.

Gibbs-White averaged 1.2 fouls won per game last season, and after seven matches this term, is averaging 1.3, while Ndoye, averaging 0.9 per game in the Premier League, averaged 3.2 per game in the 2024/25 Serie A campaign.

Caicedo received 10 yellows for Brighton in his final season with the Seagulls in 2022/23, and has been shown 11 in each of his full league campaigns at Chelsea. The 23-year-old has only been booked once for Enzo Maresca’s side this term, but is averaging a foul per game, and was sent off for two yellow-card offences in Ecuador’s 1-0 victory over Argentina last month.

Jake O’Brien (Manchester City vs Everton, Sat 15:00) @ 10/3

Everton and Republic of Ireland defender Jake O’Brien was booked five times in 20 Premier League appearances last season after joining from French giants Olympique Lyonnais, for whom he was shown four yellows and one red in 27 Ligue 1 outings in 2023/24.

The 24-year-old is yet to be carded for the Toffees in this campaign, and is only averaging 0.4 fouls per game, but he’s conceded a free-kick in his last two league matches, and in his last appearance for his country as a traditional right-back, in the 2-2 draw with Hungary on September 6, he committed three fouls.

O’Brien began Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Armenia as a right-sided centre-back in a three-man defence, supported by wing-backs, and was cautioned in the 83rd minute for a foul on Eduard Spertsyan on the left wing.

Today's Football Fixtures

At the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, the Toffees man could line up at right-back against Manchester City and Belgium wing wizard Jeremy Doku, who is averaging 1.4 fouls won per game in this season’s Premier League, and has been upended nine times across his last three league starts.

Arsenal right-back Jurrien Timber and Burnley winger Jaidon Anthony were both booked for fouling Doku last month, with Timber’s yellow called in this very column. Burnley right-back Kyle Walker was also cautioned in City’s 5-1 thrashing of Burnley on September 27, although his offence was committed against Phil Foden.

Doku was substituted on in the 78th minute away to Everton last season, and was fouled once. In the reverse fixture, the 23-year-old started and was fouled three times in his 75 minutes on the field, with Blues left-back Vitalii Mykolenko booked for fouling him, despite Doku mainly playing on the other side.

Wales left-back Ben Davies was booked for fouling Doku in Belgium’s 4-2 win in Cardiff on Monday, and the former Stade Rennais star was upended twice as a left-winger in the Red Devils’ 0-0 stalemate with Macedonia last Friday.

Sander Berge (Fulham vs Arsenal, Sat 17:30) @ 16/5

Fulham midfielder Sander Berge was booked in his first Premier League appearance against Arsenal, for Sheffield United in the 2020/21 season.

The 27-year-old, who averaged a foul per game in 2024/25 and is averaging 1.3 per game this term, could be in for a tough evening at Craven Cottage on Saturday, with midfield partner Sasa Lukic, who tends to do a lot of the dirty work, as highlighted by a record of four yellows in seven appearances, set to miss the visit of the Premier League leaders.

As a result, Berge might be pressed into more defensive work than usual, and that could see him end up in the referee’s notebook.

Premier League Odds

The Norway international was issued 10 yellows and one red in his sole Premier League campaign with Burnley before joining the Cottagers, for whom he received six yellows last season, in the summer of 2024.

Berge’s first and so far only booking this term came in the 1-0 win over Leeds United at Craven Cottage on September 13.

On Saturday, Berge could be in close contact with Arsenal playmaker Eberechi Eze, who was fouled, on average, 1.5 times per Premier League game for Crystal Palace last season.

Joao Palhinha (Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa, Sun 14:00) @ 2/1

Joao Palhinha, on loan at Tottenham Hotspur from German giants Bayern Munich, has a history with Aston Villa and their skipper, John McGinn.

The 30-year-old was booked in three of his four appearances for Fulham against Villa - the only Premier League club he has received more bookings against is Wolves (four).

Two of those cautions came after an unfair challenge on McGinn, who is an expert at drawing fouls.

The Scotland star, whose fouled-per-game average in a Premier League season has never gone lower than 1.9 (two per game in the last two full campaigns), has been upended 11 times in his last six competition appearances.

Fulham defender Calvin Bassey is the most recent player to have been booked for a foul on McGinn, in the Cottagers’ 3-1 defeat at Villa Park on September 28.

I can also see Palhinha, who has seen yellow in his last two Spurs starts - both in the Premier League - also taking drastic action to deal with McGinn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Diogo Dalot (Liverpool vs Manchester United, Sun 16:30) @ 13/5

Diogo Dalot absolutely loves a card against Liverpool; the Portugal international has been shown six yellows and one red in 12 career appearances against Liverpool.

His first booking came for FC Porto, in a Uefa Champions League game at Anfield in the 2017/18 season.

That was the first of five yellows he has received at Anfield, with two coming in the same game as he was sent off in a goalless draw on Merseyside in the 2023/24 campaign.

Dalot has picked up a card against Liverpool in each of the last three seasons, and in back-to-back visits to Anfield.

He could line up at wing-back on Sunday against either Cody Gakpo or Mohamed Salah, averaging 0.7 and 1.5 fouls won per game, respectively.
