Aberdeen vs St Johnstone Prediction: Dons to make it two on the spin

Having impressed in a 1-0 win over Motherwell last time out, Aberdeen look well placed to make it back-to-back wins when they host St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday (15:00).

The Dons have shown signs of progress under caretaker boss Peter Leven and will fancy their chances of claiming all three points against a Saints side who have hit a wall in recent weeks, with four defeats in their last five Premiership games.

Team News

Starting with the hosts, skipper Graeme Shinnie is set to return to the starting line-up after completing his suspension last time out against Motherwell.

Jack Mackenzie is a doubt after picking up a knock against the Steelmen, so Richard Jensen could be handed a starting role in his place at the back.

As for the visitors, Diallang Jaiyesimi remains a doubt due to a knee issue, while Ross Sinclair is also set to continue out on the sidelines.

Saints are also set to be without Sven Sprangler for the remainder of the campaign after sustaining an injury in the 3-1 defeat to Celtic back in March.

Aberdeen are the 7/10 favourites to make home advantage count and claim the three points, while St Johnstone are the 9/2 underdogs for the win.

A draw at Pittodrie Stadium on Saturday is available at 13/5, while under 2.5 total goals is currently 8/11.

With 17 shots on goal and 10 corners, Aberdeen were much more dominant than their 1-0 win over Motherwell would suggest.

The Dons seem in a much better place these days after their Neil Warnock experiment did not provide the answers they were hoping for.

Now unbeaten in their last five Premiership games, Aberdeen have seen significant improvement in defence, with just one goal conceded in those five matches.

With 25 goals in their 34 games, only rock-bottom Livingston have scored fewer goals than St Johnstone this season and Aberdeen look good value to win Saturday’s game to nil.
