Aberdeen vs Livingston Prediction: Dons to bounce back from cup disappointment

Aberdeen will be looking to bounce back from Sunday’s Scottish League Cup final defeat to Rangers when they welcome rock-bottom Livingston to Pittodrie on Wednesday evening (KO, 19:45).

The Dons need to pick themselves up quickly, as they are only two places off the bottom of the Premiership, but there is arguably no better chance for them to get back to winning ways than against basement boys Livingston.

Aberdeen vs Livingston Betting Tips:

  • Aberdeen to win to nil @ 8/5
  • #PickYourPunt - Under 2.5 goals, Over 39.5 booking points & Bojan Miovski to score anytime @ 11/2

Team News

Aberdeen boss Barry Robson may decide to rotate his side after the 1-0 defeat at Hampden Park on Sunday, with Duk, Dante Polvara, James McGarry and Angus MacDonald all pushing for starts.

Livingston are likely to be without the services of Sean Kelly, who was forced off at half-time against Kilmarnock last time out with a hamstring injury.

Match Odds

Aberdeen are the heavy 8/13 favourites to claim all three points, with the draw priced at 13/5 and Livingston 18/5 to take the spoils.

Livingston have scored a league-low nine goals in 16 games this season, making them the only team yet to hit double figures, and both teams to score ‘No’ is available 4/5.

Aberdeen to win to nil @ 8/5

Livingston are in a desperate state and while a 0-0 draw at home to Kilmarnock ended their seven-game losing streak, they are still without a win in eight matches.

David Martindale's side have been struggling at the back, highlighted by the 23 goals they have conceded, but it is their inability to score at the other end that is the major concern.

Livi have scored a miserly nine times in the league, and their last goal came in a 3-1 defeat at Kilmarnock on October 21.

It is over 680 minutes since the relegation-threatened outfit last hit the back of the net and it would be no surprise to see that goal drought continue against Aberdeen.

Before losing to Rangers in the Scottish League Cup final, the Dons were on a two-game winning streak after beating Hearts and Eintracht Frankfurt at Pittodrie.

Expect Aberdeen to respond from their Hampden disappointment with a win to nil on home soil.

#PickYourPunt - Under 2.5 goals, Over 39.5 booking points & Bojan Miovski to score anytime @ 11/2

It doesn’t feel like this contest will turn out to be a classic and, therefore, backing under 2.5 goals should be the first port of call in this #PickYourPunt.

Under 2.5 goals has landed in four of Abderdeen’s last five matches in all competitions, while the same bet has been successful in all of Livingston’s last seven assignments.

Adding in over 39.5 bookings points also looks like a smart play. Livi have been shown 36 yellow cards from their 16 league games, an average of over two per match, while the Dons have received 30 yellows from 15 outings.

The final part of this #PickYourPunt is for Aberdeen forward Bojan Miovski to find the back of the net at any time.

The North Macedonia international is his club’s leading scorer in the Scottish Premiership with six goals, and the most recent of those came in a victory over Hearts on December 9.

Miovski has also scored three goals in Livingston’s last two trips to Pittodrie and he can continue his impressive form against the rock-bottom visitors.
