Brave on a roll

Brave are in fine fettle, boasting two wins from two. Their latest outing, a commanding nine-wicket victory over Birmingham Phoenix, showcased the all-round strength of their squad.

Restricting Phoenix to just 106 for 7, they were led by the returning Jofra Archer's sharp 2 for 16 and Michael Bracewell's decisive 3 for 10. With the bat, skipper James Vince compiled 41 off 30 balls, while Leus du Plooy anchored the chase with 48 not out from 39 deliveries, sealing the win with 19 balls to spare.

Mixed bag from Superchargers

The Superchargers have had a mixed start to their campaign under the leadership of England white-ball captain Harry Brook. Their opening match delivered promise with an eight-wicket home victory over Welsh Fire, where Zak Crawley starred with an unbeaten 67 off 38 balls

But they followed up with a disappointing defeat at Edgbaston, where they could only post 124 for 9 from their 100 balls, despite a solid 45 from Brook, and the Trent Rockets chased down with four balls to spare. One plus was the performance of spin twins Adil Rashid and Imad Wasim, who shared the five home wickets between them and made it a more nervous finish than the Rockets would have liked.

Pitch & conditions

The Utilita Bowl typically produces first-innings scores in the 140-150 range in The Hundred but it looked hard to score in both the men's and women's games at the weekend, with the ball sticking in the pitch. With a dry and very warm forecast for Southampton on Wednesday, both captains will probably want to chase.

Key odds

Brave are a well oiled machine who know how to win on home soil - they were unbeaten here last year - and 8/11 looks about right for another victory. Superchargers are rated an 11/10 chance.

The experienced Vince is, as ever, favourite to top score for the hosts at 13/5, with du Plooy catching the eye at 4/1. Brook looked in good nick last time out for the Superchargers and he's 10/3 to top the charts again, with Crawley at 7/2.

Archer heads the top bowler market for Brave at 3/1, with fellow pacers Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan available to back at 10/3. Mohammad Amir is 14/5 favourite for Superchargers despite going wicketless last time out, with Rashid and Matty Potts both at 7/2.

Best Bets

Brook and du Plooy both sit in the top 10 run scorers for the tournament so far and have looked the biggest batting threats for either side. But will plenty of talent on show, we'll swerve the top batter markets and instead dip into the #PickYourPunt specials, where you can back the pair to both score 30+ at 4/1.
