The last game of the Men’s Hundred regular season, sees a dead rubber from Edgbaston, as Birmingham Phoenix take on London Spirit. Nevertheless, we’ve previewed this match and given you our best two bets for the action.

Birmingham Phoenix vs London Spirit Tips

  • Adam Rossington top Spirit run scorer – 10/3
  • Dan Worrall top Spirit wicket taker – 4/1

As mentioned above, the two teams playing this last group game are already eliminated but still have pride to play for.

Birmingham Phoenix (21/20) need to win here, to avoid finishing bottom of both the men’s and ladies’ competitions.

The Men have won just one of seven games and have struggled for runs in this competition, with a top score of just 119!

The London Spirit (8/11) have been marginally better, with two wins from seven and have had some pretty close contests throughout the event.

Both sides will want to put an end to this year’s tournament with a win and start to look ahed to next year.

Team news

Phoenix will hope their much maligned and highly skilled batting line up can finally fire. They will be given just one more chance to do so.

Nathan Ellis has been replaced by veteran Tim Southee for the Spirit, who could also be tempted to rotate the pack and give a chance to some of those who haven’t featured.

Adam Rossington top Spirit run scorer – 10/3

In a team with superstars in Zak Crawley, Dan Lawrence, Matthew Wade and Daryl Mitchell, it’s the Essex keeper who has led the way for the Spirit.

Rossington has 156 runs from just five innings, with a high score of 66 and a strike rate of over 200.

He can lead the way again here against a poor looking Phoenix team.

Dan Worrall top Spirit wicket taker – 4/1

The Australian seamer is another who has stood out alongside more illustrious colleagues for the Spirit.

In a team featuring Jordan Thompson, Nathan Ellis, Matt Critchley and Ravi Bopara the 32-year-old is leading the wicket tally for London.

Worrall has nine wickets, indluing three last time out against the Welsh Fire.

The wily old fox can pick up some more trophies in Birmingham, against a badly misfiring top order.
