Afghanistan blew open Group One in the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup with their shock win over Australia and they will be looking to follow up with victory against Bangladesh in the early hours of Tuesday morning (01:30) as they eye up a shock place in the semi-finals.

Here's my Afghanistan vs Bangladesh prediction ahead of the match at the Arnos Vale Stadium in Kingstown.

It's perhaps no surprise after their win over Australia that Afghanistan are 8/15 favourites to win this match with Bangladesh priced at 6/4.

Zadran and Gurbaz are both 11/4 to top score for the Afghans, while Litton Das leads the way in the Bangladesh Top Run Scorer betting at 16/5.

Rashid Khan is 11/4 to be Afghanistan Top Wicket Taker, while Mustafizur Rahman leads the way at 11/4 in the equivalent market for Bangladesh.

Afghanistan will be pleased to be playing at the same venue where they defeated Australia at the weekend and no changes are expected with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran set to open the batting again.

Bangladesh are also expected to stick with the same team which lost to India last time out.

Afghanistan are out to defy the odds at this year's T20 World Cup and if they are to progress to the semi-finals, a lot of credit should go the way of opening batsman Gurbaz.

Gurbaz and fellow opener Zadran have scored 449 runs between them in this tournament - more than the rest of the Afghanistan team combined.

Their quality at the top of the order has been crucial and Gurbaz especially has been devastating.

Gurbaz has scored 238 of those runs at an average of 39.66 and a strike rate of 141.66.

He has been Afghanistan's top runscorer in three of their six matches in the tournament, with one of those occasions coming at this venue against Australia last time out, when he blasted 60 off 49 deliveries.

Expect another strong performance from Afghanistan's wicketkeeper-batsman.

Rishad Hossain - Bangladesh Top Wicket Taker @ 7/2

The pitch at the Arnos Vale Stadium in Kingstown is hard and good for bowlers looking to make the most of bounce but the middle overs can also suit the spinners.

And that is where wrist-spinner Rishad Hossain could come into it for Bangladesh.

The Tigers have lacked quality in that department but Hossain has stepped up to the plate in this year's T20 World Cup and took 2-43 against India last time out.

That has taken his wicket tally to 15 from his last five matches, with an economy rate of seven, so he looks a fine bet to be Bangladesh's top wicket taker against Afghanistan.
