Lincoln Red Imps vs Mjallby Prediction: Hosts to make a fight of things

Lincoln Red Imps have a mountain to climb in their bid to reach the third round of Champions League qualifying when they welcome Mjallby to Europa Point Stadium in Gibraltar on Tuesday (6pm local time/5pm BST).

Kike Gomez picked up an injury in the first leg and is a doubt for this clash. His place in the home starting XI could be taken by Yussef Flalhi Idrissi.

The likes of Facundo Alvarez, Alex Mula and Nico Pinto will be hoping for starting opportunities after they all came on as second-half substitutes in Sweden.

Mjallby are set to be without Timo Stavitski, who is struggling with a back injury, while Max Nielsen is suffering with a knock and may not be risked for the second leg.

Mjallby have one foot in the third qualifying round thanks to their impressive performance in the first leg, with three goals inside the opening 32 minutes giving them a 3-0 victory.

That European performance has been a welcome change from the Swedish outfit's domestic struggles, with Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Kalmar extending their winless run in the Allsvenskan to seven games.

Away form has been a problem for Mjallby, who have failed to win their last four competitive fixtures on the road and have conceded eight goals in the process.

Mjallby should have the quality to ensure their three-goal advantage is enough to progress to the next round, but they could be on the end of a defeat to Lincoln Red Imps.

The Red Imps are on a nine-match winning streak at home, scoring at least twice in eight of those, and they look like a big price to pick up another victory.

Faroe Islands international Aki Samuelsen starred for Mjallby in the first leg, scoring the first two goals in the 3-0 victory and putting his side into a comfortable position in this tie.

The only blemish on the 22-year-old's copy book was a missed penalty in the second half, but he was still a level above the Red Imps and he looks capable of putting them to the sword again.

With the hosts having to push from the onset, there should be gaps for Mjallby to expose and Samuelsen can find the back of the net.
