Sam Surridge to score (Sub Switch)
You’ll notice I’ve steered clear of backing a match result for this Bet Builder because I still think we are getting to grips with how teams will perform following the World Cup break. With some players missing, plus new signings, I don’t think that is the smart play.Â
Instead I’m backing two elite goalscorers to find the net in what should be a competitive contest. Sam Surridge has fired Nashville to the top of the Eastern Conference and they have now got a five-point lead over Inter Miami.Â
The former Nottingham Forest man has 10 goals in 10 MLS games and is a consistent goalscorer at this level. Let’s kick things off by backing him to find the net.
Betfred's Sub Switch offer rolls your bet to the oncoming substitute, so you stay in the game, even when your player doesn’t.
Antoine Griezmann to score (Sub Switch)
The main reason I don’t want to back Nashville to win. Orlando City secured a monstrous signing over the World Cup break, bringing one of the greatest forwards of the last decade to the club in the form of Antoine Griezmann.Â
137 appearances for France, a World Cup win and one of La Liga’s shining stars over the past 15 years, Griezmann’s speed and intelligence has been too much for elite defenders to handle, and I think that should continue in MLS. One game, one goal so far, and a 4-0 win to boot - who is still far too good for this level. I back him to find another goal on his home debut.Â
Adrian Marin to get 1+ assist (Sub Switch)
Incredible odds on offer here. I was initially going to back Orlando’s Eduard Atuesta to get booked and get an assist after his midweek showing, but he is suspended having racked up five yellow cards.
I’m instead turning my attention to left-back Adrian Marin, who has three assists this term, and could feature at left-back again having done well last time out. Orlando scored from two set pieces last time out, and so Marin should be either in the box or taking the free-kick, so I think he’s a big price to find his fourth assist of the season.
