Tennis Betting Tips: In-form Badosa can rack up another clay win

Set Betting - Paula Badosa 2-0 vs Katarzyna Kawa @ 13/10

After an impressive recent run of results, former world number two Paula Badosa has moved back into the top-100 of the world rankings.

The Spaniard has not won a WTA tournament for almost two years, but came close to ending that run last week.

Badosa was 4-6 0-4 down to Mayar Sherif, before being forced to retire in the final of the Isai Open, but looks to have recovered in time to be fit for the Hamburg European Open.

It was another good week for the 28-year-old, who has qualified for two finals in a row after reaching the Nordea Open showpiece last week.

She now comes up against a player five years her elder and is currently 38 places below her in the rankings, with Katarzyna Kawa still looking for her first tournament success.

The Polish star, who failed to qualify for the main draw at Wimbledon, has faced her opponent on one previous occasion.

Badosa won that match in three sets on the grass of S-Hertogenbosch, but that was seven years ago and the gap currently appears bigger between the two players.

The Spanish player, a former Australian Open semi-finalist, goes into this in better form having won 20 of her 36 matches in 2026.

Set Betting - Mayar Sherif 2-1 vs Simona Waltert @ 16/5

Two players who have faced each other several times in recent years will meet in the round of 32 in Hamburg.

This is the seventh meeting between Mayar Sherif and Simona Waltert, with Sherif winning five of thosee previous matches.

The Egyptian might be facing the fifth seed, but she heads to Germany having lifted the trophy in Romania and having won each of her last 10 matches.

The two players met twice on clay last year, with Sherif coming out on top in both in what were pretty tight matches.

The world number 55 won a three-set affair in Argentina, having previously beaten Waltert 6-4 6-4 in the Parma Ladies Open.
