15:07 Salisbury - Treasurer @ 5/1

The Charlie Fellowes-trained TREASURER acquitted himself well from a poor draw in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot last week and should be hard to beat if replicating that effort now back in novice company.

A €40k breeze-up purchase, the son of Persian Force ran a pleasing race when a never-nearer fourth of 11 at Nottingham on his debut last month, looking the type that would improve markedly for the run, having been slowly away and run green at various stages.

Indeed, he was sharper throughout at Royal Ascot and, although he dropped away inside the final furlong to finish 12th of the 21 runners, he was only beaten a shade over eight lengths, which was a commendable effort from the 150/1 chance, who had arguably the worst of the draw (stall 1).

He’s now back at a more realistic level and should give a good account for a yard that is 4-16 at Salisbury in the last five years.

15:13 Brighton - Rogue Dynasty @ 9/4

James Owen’s ROGUE DYNASTY is proving a hard horse to win with, but he was only just denied in a deeper race over C&D last week and has strong claims of going one better.

The four-year-old has beaten at odds of 11/4 or shorter on each of his seven outings since scoring on his stable debut at Chester last summer, but he’s regularly performed well during that period, as was the case here last week when he ran to a career-best Racing Post Rating of 75.

He’s officially rated just 69, so has obvious claims in a race that ought to be run to suit.

15:20 Wexford - Polly Poppins @ 11/1

Consistency is a bit of an issue for Bernard Martin Cowley-trained POLLY POPPINS, but she’s attractively handicapped on her best form and warrants a small interest in an open Duncannon Beach Handicap Chase over 2m.

The six-year-old is yet to win in 13 starts under Rules, but she’s run some fair races in defeat, most noticeably when touched off by a head over hurdles at Tramore last August.

She’s only had two starts over fences to date, running to within 3lb of her hurdles best when third on her chasing debut at Tramore in October.

She was below that when fading into fifth on her seasonal return back at Tramore last month, but that was her first run in seven months and should have brought her on plenty from a fitness perspective.
