Colombia vs DR Congo Prediction: More delight for Diaz on Wednesday

Colombia are in the driving seat in Group K at the FIFA World Cup. Los Cafeteros were the only side to win their opening game in Group K and so a victory against DR Congo on Wednesday (8pm local time Tuesday/3am BST, ITV1/STV) at Estadio Akron will see them through to the knockout stage.
The Leopards came from a goal down to draw with Portugal to seal their first-ever point at the World Cup finals. Below you'll find my Colombia vs DR Congo predictions, aided by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Colombia boss Nestor Lorenzo is expected to name the same XI that defeated Uzbekistan 3-1. Bayern Munich winger Luis Diaz was the star man as he contributed a goal and an assist, continuing his excellent club form.
Daniel Munoz is a right-back by trade, but as Crystal Palace fans know well, he's always looking for an opportunity to get forward and aid in the attack. He was rewarded with a goal last time out, and he'll be someone DR Congo will need to monitor closely on Wednesday.
Cucho Hernandez and Jaminton Campaz impressed from the bench, recording an assist and a goal respectively. Both will likely push for starts but they'll still be ready for more star cameos.
DR Congo overcame a shaky start against Portugal and really grew into the game. Yoane Wissa was notably impressive, making you almost forget of his troublesome first campaign with Newcastle United.
The striker netted the equaliser and he'll be a key figure for the Leopards again, as will Cedric Bakambu.
Sunderland's Noah Sadiki brought great energy from the bench and he may be promoted for this contest.
Colombia vs DR Congo Predicted Lineups
- Colombia: Vargas; Munoz, Sanchez, Lucumi, Mojica; Rios, Lerma; Arias, Rodriguez, Diaz; Suarez
- DR Congo: Mpasi; Wan-Bissaka, Mbemba, Tuanzebe, Kayembe; Mukau, Moutoussamy, Sadiki; Bongonda, Bakambu, Wissa
Betfred is expecting Colombia to come out on top in this Group K clash, and Lose Cafeteros are the heavy 1/2 favourites.
The draw is on offer at 3/1, and this has now been the outcome in two of DR Congo's previous three fixtures. The Leopards are a 13/2 shot to land the three points.
Colombia have seen Over 3.5 Goals land in three of their past four games and it's priced at 3/1 on this occasion.

Colombia vs DR Congo Stats
- BTTS - Yes has landed in 5 of Colombia's past 7 outings
- There have been goals at both ends in each of DR Congo's previous 2 matches
- Luis Diaz has 17 competitive goals for Colombia, including 4 in his past 6 appearances
Both Teams To Score - Yes @ 6/4
Colombia and DR Congo were both impressive in their opening matches in Group K and I think this looks to be a very competitive encounter. For Los Cafeteros, this will be a step up from Uzbekistan, and they'll have seen the trouble DR Congo caused Portugal.
The Leopards won't change their spots for this clash and they're expected to go out with a similar game plan. I believe Both Teams To Score - Yes has been generously priced at 6/4, which has an implied probability of 40%.
This has been a winning selection in five of Colombia's seven most recent games, as well as each of DR Congo's previous two fixtures.

Player To Score (Sub Switch) - Luis Diaz @ 29/20
Diaz didn't let me down when I backed him in the Player To Score market against Uzbekistan, and I'm renewing my faith in the Colombia attacker on Wednesday.
He's very much Los Cafeteros' star player and seeing as Colombia have the chance to book their place in the round of 32 with a victory, he'll be the one looked to for inspiration in the final third.
DR Congo's defence will be tough to break down, but Diaz possesses the star quality to get through. He now has 17 competitive goals for his country, with four coming across his last six appearances.

Colombia vs DR Congo Score Prediction
- Colombia 2-1 DR Congo
This was a tough one to call because I was really impressed with DR Congo against Portugal. I think they're facing an attacking unit that have a lot more momentum behind them, though, and I think this will have an impact on proceedings.
I considered backing the 1-1 but I think Colombia have the attacking options to just edge this clash.
