Both Teams to Score - Yes

Algeria failed to score in their opening game, losing 3-0 to Argentina, but that's hardly a disgrace against the reigning World Cup champions. The Fennecs had scored in four of their first six games of the calendar year and will be after all three points here, and considering Jordan have conceded at least twice in all five of their matches in 2026, it would be a surprise not to see Vladimir Petkovic's charges get on the scoresheet.

I think they'll be joined there by Jordan, though, with The Chivalrous Ones managing to breach Austria's defence once last week. Jamal Sellami's side have scored in four of their five games this calendar year, only failing to strike in a 2-0 friendly defeat to Colombia, who are ranked 12th in the world, on 8 June.

Algeria, to their credit, had recorded four consecutive shutouts prior to facing a Lionel Messi-inspired Argentina last week, but with Jordan also searching for a win, especially as La Albiceleste are their opponents in the third and final round of group fixtures, I'm hopeful both teams will be on the scoresheet in Santa Clara.

Match Result - Algeria

Ultimately, though, I'm backing Algeria to come out on top and put one foot in the knockout stage.

The Fennecs were well beaten by Argentina last week, but they started brightly and had been in good form heading into that opening game, going unbeaten in their previous four matches (W3, D1), notably drawing 0-0 with Uruguay in March and beating the Netherlands 1-0 earlier this month.

Jordan, meanwhile, have failed to win this calendar year, drawing 2-2 with both Costa Rica and Nigeria in March before suffering 4-1 and 2-0 defeats to Switzerland and Colombia, respectively, in their warm-up games prior to last week's loss to Austria.

Their defence is too porous, and that's what is likely to cost them at Levi's Stadium.

Jordan vs Algeria Odds

Player 2+ Shots (Sub Switch) - Fares Chaibi (ALG)

Eintracht Frankfurt winger Fares Chaibi, who averaged 1.8 shots per 90 in the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, recorded three efforts against Argentina, missing the target three times between the 41st and 45th minute.

Petkovic is likely to make changes to his starting XI against Jordan, with Riyad Mahrez set to come in on the right-hand side of attack, but Chaibi's position on the left looks pretty secure after he played the duration of the game against Argentina.

The 23-year-old, who had a goal ruled out in the ninth minute of his side's defeat to La Albiceleste, is fancied to pose problems again.

Player 1+ Shots on Target (Sub Switch) - Mousa Al-Tamari (JOR)

Stade Rennais forward Mousa Al-Tamari had an eventful first half against Austria, shooting four times and forcing a save with his first effort in the ninth minute.

The 29-year-old averaged 0.9 shots on target per 90 in the 2025/26 Ligue 1 season and has registered a shot on target in three of his last four appearances for club and country.
