Iraq

Iraq are appearing at their first World Cup since 1986 but face a tough task reaching the knockout stages having been drawn in Group I with Norway, France and Senegal.

Manager Graham Arnold has a full squad to choose from with no fresh injury concerns heading into the tournament, so Aymen Hussein is set to lead the line and partner Mohanad Ali in attack.

Ipswich forward Ali Al-Hamadi and former Manchester United midfielder Zidane Iqbal are expected to be named as substitutes. Winger Marko Farji, who was born in Grimstad, Norway, will also have to settle for a place on the bench.

Iraq come into the World Cup on a run of mixed form. After beating Andorra 1-0, the team drew 1-1 with Spain but lost 2-0 to Venezuela last Wednesday.

Norway

Norway boss Stale Solbakken, who has previously managed Wolves and FC Copenhagen, has a full complement of players to choose from as the Red, White and Blue target a winning start.

This means Erling Haaland will play upfront and provide a major goal threat. The Manchester City attacker is likely to be supported by forwards Alexander Sorloth and Antonio Nusa.

Norway will be captained by Martin Odegaard on the back of helping Arsenal to lift the Premier League title while Brentford defender Kristoffer Ajer is expected to line up at the back.

Haaland & Co. topped their World Cup qualifying group ahead of Italy after winning all eight of their games and scoring 37 goals in the process.

Iraq vs Norway Key Players

Aymen Hussein (Iraq)

Aymen Hussein is in the top five Iraq goalscorers of all-time having netted 33 times in 95 games for his country.

Making his international debut in 2015, the 30-year-old is a natural finisher who also puts in the hard yards to press and harry the opposition from the front.

It was Hussein who scored the winning goal against Bolivia in the final of the inter-confederation play-off to send Iraq to a first World Cup in 40 years.

Erling Haaland (Norway)

Norway may not have quality all over the pitch, but with Haaland in attack, the Red, White and Blue have every chance of finding the net regularly this summer and causing a few upsets along the way.

The Man City forward is one of the most fearsome frontmen in world football and now has the opportunity to shine on the international stage. In qualifying, Haaland scored 16 goals in just eight matches, a rate of two goals per game, netting five in an 11-0 win over Andorra.

If Norway can provide the towering attacker with decent service, Solbakken's men have a good chance of reaching the knockouts, such is Haaland’s clinical finishing in front of goal.
