Saturday Greyhound Tips: Michael’s off to Central Park – the Kent one

1pt 18:50 Central Park - Avarua Lake (T3) @ SP

This evening we head to Central Park as Category One action takes centre stage with the first-round heats of the Arc Kent Silver Salver taking place.

At 18:50 in heat one of the Silver Salver run over the two-bend 277-metre trip, look out for Hove raider AVARUA LAKE from T3.

The Richard Rees-trained railer has some smart form at his home track from earlier this year, plus wins at Oxford and over this course and distance at Central Park.

Following two months off the track, Avarua Lake returned to action recently with a 16.33 trial at Hove followed by 16.52 over this same 285-metre distance. Those runs would have blown away the cobwebs, and the August 2023 son of Serene Ace should be approaching peak fitness and granted a clear run, he can win this evening and book his place in the next round of the Silver Salver.

Thurlsbeg Pablo rates as the main danger from T6. False Strap (T2) has chances and could be worth including in forecast bets.

1pt 19:50 Central Park - Westwood Shay (T3) @ SP

The Arc Maiden Trophy final at 19:50 looks ultra-competitive with plenty in with chances, but the one that jumps out and appeals as a betting proposition is WESTWOOD SHAY from T3.

On English debut last week in the heats of this competition, Shay was crowded at the first bend and turned third, but down the back straight the former Irish-based performer showed a smart turn of pace to hit the front at the third bend, and he powered clear to record a three and three-quarter victory in 29.31.

Tonight, Westwood Shay needs to get it right at the boxes, the Paul Donovan-trained railer can’t afford a tardy exit or trouble at the first bend.

Wide-seed Lincoln Impact (T6) will be flying home and would be a danger to all if within striking distance.

1pt 21:10 Central Park - Princess Matilda (T4) @ SP

The third and final selection from Central Park this evening is PRINCESS MATILDA, who lines up from T4 in the Arc Stayers Trophy over the six-bend 664-metre trip at the Kent venue.

Romford raider Matilda is capable of winning this from the front or if she turns handy. A course-and-distance win in 40.51 back in April reads well and a repeat of that should be good enough to take this.

Good Rainbow (T6) bolted up over course and distance last week, winning by over ten lengths in 40.60. Well-drawn out in T6, the Barry O’Sullivan-trained middle seed would be a danger to all if she brings her trapping boots this evening.

Gothic Abbess (T3) has kept good company around Romford and Towcester in recent weeks; she's another in with live claims.
