Eels vs Raiders Prediction: Canberra can keep their season alive with one more from Weekes

A pair of bottom-four sides collide on Saturday in the NRL Premiership when the Parramatta Eels meet the Canberra Raiders at CommBank Stadium (7:35pm local, 10:35am BST, Watch NRL).
Both sides are desperate for a win to keep their season alive with the first half of the campaign having gone wildly wrong for each. Here are my Eels vs Raiders predictions, the latest team news and Betfred’s match odds.
Eels vs Raiders Betting Tips

The traders at Betfred have Canberra as favourites here, with the Raiders 8/11 for the win in normal time. Parra can be backed at 6/5, which implies a 45.5% probability, while it’s 16/1 about the draw in 80 minutes.
Team News
The Eels make just one change to the side pipped by the Bulldogs on Monday, with Tallyn Da Silva cued up for the start in place of Harrison Edwards. In truth, though, this could result in a switch on matchday once more as has happened for the last couple of games.
Jonah Pezet is still out with a hamstring injury, while Mitchell Moses could return for New South Wales in Wednesday’s State of Origin Game II.
Canberra coach Ricky Stuart loses Savelio Tamale due to a head knock, but Seb Kris is back after a similar issue.
Ethan Strange is away with the Blues, so Daine Laurie moves to the halves and Jed Stuart relieves Tamale on the wing. Ata Mariota is in at second row to replace Hudson Young, who – like Strange – is in Origin camp with NSW.
There could be an NRL debut for prop Vena Patuki-Case, who is named as one of the six interchange options.
Raiders by 1-12 @ 21/10
While instinct suggests to me that Parra will take this one, giving even half a glance to the Eels’ defensive returns this season makes backing them difficult.
The Raiders were slapped 26-0 by the Roosters last week, but on the whole ‘Sticky’ Ricky Stuart has managed to get Canberra competing again of late.
He was pretty short and to the point with the media after that performance at GIO, and was keen to emphasise that the nilling was “just one game”.
They’ve won four of their last eight, which is far from their Minor Premiership form of last season but is far better than their 1-4 run at the start of 2026.
Against that backdrop, I have the Green Machine to just about get over the line at CommBank, and a one to two-score win at 21/10 feels like fabulous value.

Kaeo Weekes Anytime Tryscorer @ 8/11
With six tries in eight matches, Kaeo Weekes arrives in western Sydney with a very good recent return.
The full-back has been a regular contributor to Raiders attacks, and even at 8/11 I think the punter comes out on top value-wise.
