Germany are going under the radar slightly as we head into the World Cup, as they have been placed in a group with Curacao, Ecuador and Ivory Coast.

Without a player like Miroslav Klose leading the line, there could be value to be had as we look at the Germany World Cup Top Scorer Odds, which you can find below.

  • Florian Wirtz @ 5/1
  • Jamal Musiala @ 5/1

Kai Havertz @ 2/1

Germany’s 2-1 win over hosts USA in their final warm-up game gave us the best indication of how their attack will line up, and Arsenal’s Kai Havertz led the line as the number nine - and scored.

The forward also scored in the Champions League final and although he ended with just seven goals for Arsenal in 24 matches, it does mean he should be fresh heading into this World Cup. He also should get the nod when it comes to taking penalties, given he has been fairly consistent from the spot, although there is competition.

Injuries are always a concern, but I don’t mind Havertz being the favourite here, given he is set to start as the number nine.

Florian Wirtz @ 5/1

The Liverpool man found some form in the middle part of the season, albeit lost his way again towards the end, and clearly has loads of quality. He’s set to start as one of the three attacking players behind Havertz and could cause chaos, although I tend to think that will be more in terms of assists and chance creation.

He only scored five Premier League goals for the Reds in his debut year, is unlikely to be on set-pieces, and therefore I think there is probably better value to be had if we look elsewhere.

Jamal Musiala @ 5/1

What a player. A broken leg ruled Jamal Musiala out for the majority of Bayern Munich’s season, and he only made his first start of the season in February. Still, that means he shouldn't be suffering from fatigue, and the fact that Julian Nagelsmann has picked him to start is testament to his ability.

He only scored five total goals this term, but he is a top class operator and should be in the mix to bag a couple at the World Cup. Whether he will bag enough to be Germany’s top scorer, I’m not sure.

Deniz Undav @ 6/1

If Havertz doesn’t start, Deniz Undav is the man next in line, and he should get a decent number of minutes anyway. The former Brighton man is a more natural nine, and scored 19 goals in 29 Bundesliga fixtures this term for Stuttgart.

Only Harry Kane scored more for reference, so he’s a wonderful option should Havertz get injured or fail to deliver. I think he will score a far few, and with the hot weather in the USA, substitutes could play a crucial part. Up against tired defences, I don’t mind Undav at 6/1.

Nick Woltemade @ 6/1

Difficult to see where he fits into this Germany line-up as a 10 or a nine. He could be a more physical option than Musiala behind the striker, but I can’t see him getting a boatload of opportunities.

Newcastle got eight Premier League goals from him this term, but I can’t see him being that integral to Germany’s hopes unless they have a big injury crisis at the top end of the pitch.

Leroy Sane @ 10/1

Now Sane looks like he could bring some value to this market. Likely to start as a winger to stretch defences, with Wirtz, Musiala and Havertz all wanting to drop into half spaces, it does feel like he could provide a different option for Germany.

Now at Galatasaray, he scored seven league goals this term but he can shoot from range and Nagelsmann likes him. I’m not convinced he will tear things up but he is the one point of difference when we look at this clever German attack. Doesn’t mind a free-kick or a shot from range either…
