PSG vs Arsenal Prediction: Les Parisiens to join an exclusive club

Paris Saint-German aim to defend their UEFA Champions League crown when they face Arsenal at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on Saturday (6pm local, 5pm BST, TNT Sports 1/HBO Max).

Les Parisiens won both legs when they met in last year's semi-finals but Arsenal did beat them earlier in the campaign during the league phase. My PSG vs Arsenal predictions can be found below, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Luis Enrique rested many of his key players in PSG's final Ligue 1 match. He did start Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele, however, and he was forced off with a calf issue. He is confident he will be able to play on Saturday.

Full back Nuno Mendes is looking to shake off a thigh issue to start in Budapest. Achraf Hakimi's hamstring injury looks set to keep him out of the final. Warren Zaire-Emery would operate on the right side of the defence as a result.

Football Odds

Arsenal are missing their main right back options as Jurrien Timber has been sidelined since March with a groin problem, and Ben White recently succumbed to a knee injury.

Noni Madueke should be declared fit to make the bench on Saturday following a slight hamstring tweak.

PSG have won the last two meetings in regulation time and they are 5/4 to prevail inside 90 minutes on Saturday. Les Parisiens are 4/6 to win the tie.

The draw can be backed at 12/5, with Arsenal experiencing three stalemates across their past six outings in the knockout stage.

Arsenal are a 21/10 bet to come out on top in normal time, while they are 6/5 to win the tie.

Ever since it was confirmed that these two teams were set to meet in the final, I have gone back and forth on how I think this game will unfold. I just didn't want to fall down the trap that I did a year ago.

Arsenal and Inter Milan, the team who PSG defeated in last season's final, are similar in that they gained praise for their defensive solidity. I, like many, thought Inter would be resourceful in limiting PSG's attacking players and they were comfortably beaten 5-0.

I don't necessarily think this will be the case against Arsenal but I think PSG's attacking stars will go and ask questions of the Gunners' defence that they haven't been tested with this term.

I'm hoping for a competitive clash but if Les Parisiens are at their free-flowing best, I believe they could beat Arsenal by a few goals.

This would make PSG the ninth club to win consecutive titles in the European Cup/Champions League. The French giants would be the second to accomplish this feat in the Champions League era, following Real Madrid's three-peat between 2016 and 2018.

Anytime Goalscorer - Khvicha Kvaratskhelia @ 21/10

Cristhian Mosquera, a traditional centre back, is likely going to be deployed at right back on Saturday for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta has tried Declan Rice there but the Gunners' boss will want one of his key midfielders to play in his natural position.

Mosquera, consequently, faces a tough task of keeping PSG winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia quiet. In my opinion, the Georgian is one of the best players in the world and his 10 goals in 15 Champions League appearances this term attest to this.

Arsenal's right side is likely going to be targeted heavily in Budapest and I'm backing Kvaratskhelia to profit by getting on the scoresheet.
