1 pt 19:44 Sunderland – Hi Hilda (T2) @ SP

Racing from Nottingham was called off yesterday on safety concerns with the temperatures forecast to be over 30 degrees. Plenty of meetings today have also been affected, but Sunderland this evening looks like it should get the go ahead with the forecast to be around the 18-degree mark in the north-east. At 19:44, look out for HI HILDA who lines up from T2 in the A7 graded race over the four-bend 450-metre trip.

The August 2024 pup won on debut in impressive fashion, making all in 28.44 and then next time out went quicker on the clock (28.21) but was caught late on. The daughter of King Sheeran lost nothing in defeat there and, with further improvement likely, she rates as a solid bet this evening. Untold Kaspa (T4) will be staying on well and could be worth including in forecast bets.

1 pt 20:01 Sunderland – Mascot Delilah (T5) @ SP

The D5 graded sprint at 20:01 over the two-bend 261-metre trip can go to middle seed MASCOT DELILAH, who runs from T5. The Dean Blackbird-trained August 2024 daughter of Jacktavern Gem is an interesting runner on two-bend debut this evening following eleven runs over four-bends at Sunderland. During those four-bend runs, Delilah has shown enough early pace to suggest this trip would suit and she looks like a strong player in a very weak D5 contest.

If Delilah traps out in best fashion and leads round this should be all over bar the shouting. Ballintemple Bay (T1) will be staying on well from his rails draw and could be a decent forecast mixer in the race. Avalon Pestana (T2) is another worth including in forecast bets at a price.

1 pt 21:28 Sunderland – Emers Noddy (T1) @ SP

The third and final selection from Sunderland this evening is well-drawn railer EMERS NODDY from the Dean Blackbird kennel. This looks like a wide-open A3 graded contest with plenty in with chances. Based on a plot draw on the rails preference is for class dropper Noddy. In recent weeks, the October 2023 daughter of Serene Ace has won a top-grade sprint race in 15.84 and finished second in A2 company last time out in 28.03 when attempting to make all. Now dropped into A3 company, a repeat of that sort of time would give Noddy a live chance.

As ever, the key to the race will be the break and run into the first bend. It's imperative that Noddy brings his trapping boots and hits the back straight on the bunny. Whiteburnwarriors (T4) is in fine form, winning two of her last three over course and distance. She rates as the main danger. Kilwest Joss (T5) is well-drawn with T6 vacant and has claims in a competitive race.
