Football Bet of the Day: Las Blancas have a point to prove against Badalona

Real Madrid Femenino take on FC Badalona Women (6pm UK time, 7pm local, DAZN) in the Spanish Primera Division. Las Blancas are a distant second behind runaway titlists Barcelona, having also watched their rivals lift the Champions League.

While Real have played second fiddle to Barcelona this term, they remain a formidable proposition in their own right. The Madrid side are second in the Primera Liga and also reached the Champions League quarter finals. 

Losing 6-0 to Barcelona in the latter and currently trailing the same side by 15 points in the league is enough to give a team a complex. I expect this to crystallise in a dominant display over FC Badalona.

Football Odds

The former Levante Badalona are 10th in the league this term, but their form has tailed off in recent weeks. ONA have lost three of their last four outings, drawing the other. There is an element of complacency that appears to have set in.

It is this, coupled with recent history between the two sides, that has led me to the Real Madrid to win both halves tip. Las Blancas were 3-0 winners when these teams last faced off. Goals from Linda Caicedo and Naomie Feller in the first half set the tone before Athenea del Castillo made it 3-0 in the second half.

I expect Real to deal with Badalona in a similar fashion here, winning both halves on the way to a defiant victory in the face of Barcelona dominance.
