Wakefield Trinity vs Catalans Dragons Odds

Wakey are big favourites for the win, with their 2/5 price implying a 71.4% probability. Les Dracs are 9/4, with the draw slated at 14/1.

Team News

Wakefield are boosted by the return of three key players as they look to strengthen their play-off push. Forwards Seth Nikotemo, Isaiah Vagana and Jazz Tevaga are all back in the squad while Cam Scott is also included despite being stretchered off in the defeat to Leeds a couple of weeks ago.

Nikotemo returns after concussion protocols, Vagana is back from an ankle injury and Tevaga has served a suspension.

Full-back Max Jowitt and England winger Tom Johnstone are still missing, however.

Catalans have lost their last two games and make one change as they bid to nip that run in the bud.

The alteration is a welcome one, with captain Ben Garcia back available after injury. The man to drop out is prop Iszac Fa'asuamaleaui.

Rugby League Odds

Handicap 3-Way: Wakefield -10 @ 11/10

It's sixth versus eight with just two points and one win separating the two teams but Wakefield have felt like the much stronger of the two teams throughout the season.

Wakefield have actually lost three of their last four games, but they were to St Helens, Wigan and Leeds - three games you would have probably predicted Trinity would be second best in.

The one win in between those losses was a big one, 52-12 at home to Bradford, and the home form has been strong. Trinity have won their last three Super League games at Belle Vue - with the one defeat coming in the opening round to Toulouse when most teams were effectively in pre-season. So I am expecting a strong Wakefield showing in this one.

Catalans continue to perplex. As likely to look unbeatable as they are to look all over the place. Their form guide reads similarly to Wakefield's, with just one win in the last four in all competitions.

On their travels, the Dragons have won just once in Super League this term, a 26-22 triumph at Leigh in March. So this one feels like a home win.

The head-to-head record, however, is intriguing. Trinity won the corresponding fixture last season 44-6, but Catalans have actually won four of their last five trips to Wakefield - so four on the spin prior to last season.

The handicap gives Catalans a 10-point start, which feels a tad generous, but I am behind a home win - Wakefield are big outright favourites at 2/5.

With a big start and an energetic performance, the hosts can cover the handicap. But they will have to work for it.

Leo Darrelatour Anytime Tryscorer @ 6/4

Some nice options in the anytime market with Betfred this week, where our ever-reliable selection Oliver Pratt is favourite to score at 4/6. I have been backing Pratt all season, and with 11 Super League tries to his name only Leeds pair Maika Sivo and Brodie Croft have scored more.

Both Pratt and Jayden Myers (1/1) represent the likely outside threat for Trinity, having proved so dangerous out wide throughout the season so far. In defeat at Leeds last time out Wakefield still ran in four tries, with Myers grabbing two and Pratt one. Tray Lolesio (7/2) got the other.

For the Dragons I have mainly been entrusting their star full-back Charlie Staines this year, and he has come up trumps for us more times than not. The Aussie is 6/4 to cross this week.

Also at 6/4 is winger Leo Darrelatour, a player I really like. He is a fantastic finisher with six tries in his last six games, and the Frenchman edges the above options to be my pick this week, purely for the extra value.
