Big annual treat - Sandown's two-day meet that officially signals the end of the National Hunt season kicks in on Friday with - a fabulous seven-race card on the flat, starting at 13:20, and including three Group contests.

ITV are screening four, LIVE, so what a treat in terms of our Lucky 15 tips. Stacks of our top jocks are here, plus Colin Keane, jetting in from Ireland in his capacity as the main man for Juddmonte - and notably for their G1 superstar Field Of Gold, running in the 15:00.

Cracking emphatic Beverley winner advised at 5/1 yesterday, and given the nature of our L15 bet with 3x the odds for a solitary scorer we're covered nicely, to happily fight another day!

Enjoy, as always.

13:50 - Organise @ 11/10

First up it's the Esher Cup, a Class 2 handicap for three-year-olds over a mile.

Small but select field, and the market is likely to be headed by the Night Of Thunder colt Organise, out of an Oasis Dream mare, trained by John & Thady Gosden.

Just the two starts so far for the selection; an impressive 7l demolition at Southwell on his sole outing at two in November, then on seasonal reappearance 13 days ago at Yarmouth he confirmed all that winter promise with a cosy novice success, going away, from a well-regarded William Haggas inmate.

Big step up in class this afternoon but that looks absolutely appropriate. Organise runs in the colours of Wathnan Racing, and is entered up in the Dante at York in a few weeks.

Wathnan's retained pilot James Doyle, on board for both spins so far, again has the riding assignment. He's rated 97 for this first step into handicap company but I'm sure connections will be hoping he's a Listed or Group-level horse, eventually, in the making.

14:25 - Almeric @ 6/4

Another classy affair with rather more established types - a 10f G3 for older horses.

Short on numbers perhaps but not quality, or intrigue. I've plumped for Andrew Balding's Almeric, a four-year-old colt by a French Derby winner, and the mighty Oisin Murphy has the leg up.

This one is entered up in a G1 at the Curragh next month, and has won three of his five starts to date. He ran when last seen in the G1 Champion Stakes at Newmarket in October; highly-tried then, and faded late to be well-beaten behind global superstar Calandagan.

He'd previously taken a couple of Listed heats and will surely be much more at home right now at this G3 mark. Runs in the familiar silks of legendary owner and businesswoman Miss Kirsten Rausing, and Murphy has ridden him in all but one of his appearances so far.

15:00 - Zeus Olympios @ 5/2

Heroic name for our pick, and a fabulous race. A G2 mile contest featuring a G1 standout from last season.

Field Of Gold was felt by many good judges to have been unlucky in the 2000 Guineas at HQ, after winning the Craven readily beforehand, and put that right with an authoritative triumph at the Curragh in Ireland's equivalent shortly afterwards.

Royal Ascot success was to follow, before two lesser efforts in the Sussex and the QEII to end his campaign. I'm taking him on this afternoon with Karl Burke's four-year-old Night Of Thunder colt Zeus Olympios.

This fella is unbeaten in four starts, the most impressive being the last; a resounding G2 Joel Stakes win at HQ in September. Those four wins have been beautifully progressive in their symmetry, and it looks like the Lockinge is on his dance card in a few weeks time, where he could again bump into Field Of Gold.

I'm going for the potential of Burke's charge who admittedly does have a little to find on official figures, but with the yard flying (30% strike-rate over the last 14 days) that's no forlorn hope.

What a race to savour.

15:35 - Action @ 11/8

The last ITV race is the G3 Classic Trial for three-year-olds, over 10f.

It's very hard to ignore the claims of Aidan O'Brien's representative, with Ryan Moore up - a Frankel colt out of a Scat Daddy mare. Action has one win so far from four starts, and we last saw him finishing second to stablemate Hawk Mountain in the G1 Futurity at Donny in October.

That was on heavy ground, always a tough ask for a juvenile over a mile, and he reappears here as readily the best-in on known ratings and with a raft of all the anticipated entries befitting a potential prince of Ballydoyle.

The ground at Sandown is anticipated to be good, conditions under which he ran well for a win and two narrow defeats before that admirable Town Moor spin.

He's probably not bomb-proof but does still appeal as by far the most likely scorer in my book.

If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £80 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
