Lucky 15 Tips: Sprint over to Ponte Carlo on Tuesday!

Love a summer saunter to Pontefract (Ponte Carlo), the glorious West Yorkshire racetrack, so that's exactly where we'll be for Tuesday's Lucky 15 tips.
Rossa Ryan is here, plus Danny Tudhope, in-form Connor Beasley, and a host of tip-top jocks. I've been many, many times, would recommend it unreservedly, and can't wait for the action to start. Enjoy!
Lucky 15 tips - Tuesday, April 21
Pontefract
- 13:42 - Claret And Blues @ 3/1
- 14:17 - Lady Youmzain @ 8/13
- 16:32 - Home And Dry @ 5/1
- 17:05 - Hidden Verse @ 11/2
*Odds correct as of the time of publication
13:42 - Claret And Blues @ 3/1
Only three of the eight scheduled to face the starter have run before, but I'm siding with an unraced juvenile in the shape of Richard & Peter Fahey's Claret And Blues.
The two-year-old colt by G3-winning sire Sergei Prokofiev is out of a Rahy mare, so is bred to be speedy and potentially precocious. Reasonably drawn in the four box, an important factor here especially in sprints (5f), excellent stable jockey Oisin Orr is in the plate.
The yard was among the winners at Redcar yesterday and will look to play a leading role in this.
14:17 - Lady Youmzain @ 8/13
Owner Jaber Abdullah interestingly fields two in this 6f novice - our selection Lady Youmzain, a three-year-old Hello Youmzain filly, and Town Queen, an unraced three-year-old daughter of Blue Point.
Our pick carries a 7lb penalty for winning a Beverley novice on debut last September. She was very impressive, stretching out over the minimum trip to prevail by 5l, and connections will be excited ahead of her reappearance.
She's trained by Kevin Ryan, and will have Kevin Stott on board. Likely rival Town Queen is from the all-conquering Karl Burke yard, and Sam James in on top. Should be hugely informative, and a 1-2 is a distinct possibility for the owner.
16:32 - Home And Dry @ 5/1
What a marathon 'ask' now - 2m 5f around this demanding circuit is no place for the faint of heart.
I'm playing the eight-year-old Home And Dry, from the Monmouthshire yard of Thomas Faulkner. The outstanding Danny Tudhope has the riding assignment.
The selection is a Sea The Stars gelding, with two all-weather wins from 18 starts all told, which encompasses five hurdle outings and three flat turf spins. He warmed up for this by running down the field in a Chepstow handicap at the beginning of April and prior to that reappearance run won a Chelmsford two-miler in October, narrowly, in this grade.
He's been here once before in 2021 and it didn't go well - but that was only the third run of his life, and this ex-Mark Johnston inmate can get competitive this afternoon.
17:05 - Hidden Verse @ 11/2
The great Rossa Ryan has ventured up the M62 for two rides, one of which is Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole's Hidden Verse, in this 5f Class 5 sprint handicap.
Here's another Dark Angel offspring, the top-class G1-winning juvenile, and our selection in this is two-from-14 in his own slightly less exalted career. Crucially he's had a pipe-opener for this campaign, at Bath 16 days ago, and finished well to be beaten 2.25l in a field of 13.
Looks primed and ready then to run a big one, dropped a pound down to a mark of 62, for his gifted pilot who gets the leg up for the first time. The yard had a winner a few days ago, again at Bath, and this fella's got the absolute plum draw in stall one.
If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £340 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
