We’ve got some Monday Night Football coming our way from the Premier League, and it is a crucial one at the bottom of the table, as West Ham look to move away from the bottom three with three points.

They travel across the capital to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park (20:00 BST, Sky Sports Main Event), looking to give themselves some breathing room in this relegation scrap. You can find my Crystal Palace vs West Ham predictions featuring betting tips and more.

Team News

After two goals against Newcastle from the bench and having been taken off at half-time in midweek, Jean-Philippe Mateta will be hopeful of another start. Jorgen Strand Larsen will be disappointed if he misses out but should feature from the bench.

Adam Wharton and Maxime Lacroix are both going to miss out after picking up injuries in the first half against Fiorentina. “Adam is an abductor [injury], like when he had to leave the England camp. Let's see, it doesn't look so serious but we have to assess him further,” Glasner said after the game.

“Maxence was foot to foot contact and then he felt his knee, the medial ligament so let's see but it is painful.” Chadli Riad and Jefferson Lerma should replace the injured duo in the XI.

Meanwhile Nuno Espirito Santo’s side got a number of first team stars back last week, as Konstantinos Mavropanos, Crysencio Summerville, Mads Hermansen, Pablo Felipe and Tomas Soucek all returned to the starting XI.

“All the boys are OK,” the manager confirmed. “It’s always good to have all the options available.

Valentin Castellanos scored twice in that win over Wolves and will start up top again, with Kyle Walker-Peters likely to edge out Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back.

Crystal Palace vs West Ham
3 1

West Ham to win @ 2/1

This is a difficult game to call, but I do think there is value in backing the away side to come away with the spoils. West Ham beat Wolves 4-0 last time out and have lost twice in their lasst seven league outings.

That’s including a draw with Man City, and Nuno has certainly improved the Hammers. Spurs missed the chance to leapfrog them after conceding late to Brighton, and I think West Ham will try to take full advantage.

Crystal Palace lost two key players in midweek and will be tired after their Thursday night exploits in Italy. As a result, I think backing the Hammers to find a vital three points could be the way to go.

Valentin Castellanos to score first @ 13/2

If I’m backing a West Ham win, I think it makes sense to back Castellanos to score the first goal at a decent price. The Argentine is pushing for a place in the World Cup and his brace against Wolves should leave him full of confidence.

He’s now up to four goals since joining the Hammers in January, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him notch the opener at Selhurst Park.
