There will be 34 runners contesting Saturday's showpiece and we will know the full roster closer to the time as 2025 champion Nick Rockett was declared a non-runner on Thursday morning.

This is when we start to see the betting market get as hectic as Spaghetti Junction during rush-hour. This will lead to the prices fluctuating as horses are heavily backed, which may make some radical changes to the list in its current form.

I Am Maximus currently leads the way at 7/1. The 10-year-old is seeking a second victory in this iconic race after triumphing two years ago for Irish trainer Willie Mullins.

The son of Authorized was runner-up in last year's edition, finishing two-and-a-half lengths behind stablemate Nick Rockett.

I Am Maximus is carrying the most weight of all horses in the field at 11st 12lbs, but there has been no top-weight winner since 1974 champion and racing legend Red Rum.

Since the declarations, the only notable change in the market has seen Dan Skelton's Panic Attack move up to second at 8/1 from 12/1. This 10-year-old mare is making her first appearance in the Grand National and is hoping to make a bit of history. No mare has won this race since Nickel Coin all the way back in 1951.

Panic Attack raised eyebrows when storming to victory in the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury back in November, and she has gained plenty of admirers given her price has shortened for Saturday. Could she be the one to cause panic for Mullins this year and hand Skelton a maiden victory in the National?

Third in the market is another Mullins entry in the form of Grangeclare West at 9/1. He completed the top three for the Closutton maestro 12 months ago and punters think he can play a key role again.

He made a mistake at the last fence last year, and he has been prone to some wayward jumping in the closing stages in some of his other appearances. Regardless, he is still getting plenty of backing.
