Football Bet of the Day: Parrott to repeat his form from the last round

One of the four Uefa Conference League quarter-final first legs taking place on Thursday sees Shakhtar Donetsk face AZ Alkmaar at Stadion Miejski in Poland (20:00 BST, TNT Sports 7). Shakhtar defeated Lech Poznan in the previous round, while AZ got past Sparta Praha.
Below you will find my Football Bet of the Day, which I have picked out from this contest.
Football Bet of the Day - Thursday, April 9
- Anytime Goalscorer - Troy Parrott @ 6/5

Shakhtar Donetsk vs AZ Alkmaar Odds
Shakhtar have won five of their last six competitive matches and they are an 8/5 bet to win this clash.
AZ are also priced at 8/5 to collect the victory, and they have picked up four victories from their past five fixtures in all competitions.
The draw is on offer at 5/2.
There were goals at both ends in each of Shakhtar's two legs against Lech Poznan in the last round. BTTS - Yes is marketed at 8/13.
But it's the goalscorer market I am turning to for my Bet of the Day because this is where the best value lies. AZ's Troy Parrott is who I am backing to get on the scoresheet because over the past two seasons he has been a consistent goalscorer for the Dutch club.
The striker has had to be patient in the Conference League. He didn't score a single goal during the league phase, despite netting seven in five qualifiers over the summer.
Parrott was able to rediscover that form, though, by scoring three times across the two-legged round-of-16 contest against Sparta Praha.
This is likely going to have lifted his confidence ahead of this quarter-final tie, and I suspect he will play a key role for De Kaasboeren.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Troy Parrott has scored 10 goals in the Conference League this season (inc. qualifiers)
- Parrott has 3 goals in his last 2 European appearances
With Jizz Hornkamp (ankle), Peer Koopmeiners (calf) and Ro-Zangelo Daal (hamstring) out injured, as well as the suspension of Isak Steiner Jensen, there is going to be some added responsibility on Parrott's shoulders.
He rose to the occasion in the last round, so he can do it again in an attempt to fire his team into the semi-finals. Of course, AZ still have a home leg to navigate but they will look to put themselves in a strong position on Thursday and Parrott is of course the man who can make that happen.
Parrott was limited to just a cameo in the last Conference League match but he is set to be restored to the XI to spearhead the attack against Shakhtar, and in his current mood, this does not bode well for the Ukrainian outfit.
