Football Bet of the Day: Lambs face a slaughter

There are six National League games taking place on Wednesday and one of them sees promotion-chasing Forest Green Rovers (sixth) travel to Tamworth (19:45 GMT, DAZN). The visitors have won three of their last five outings in the league coming into this clash, while the hosts have lost four of their previous five.

It is from this clash that I have picked out my Football Bet of the Day, which you can check out below.

Tamworth vs Forest Green Rovers Odds

Tamworth are deemed a 23/10 shot to win this one given their current form.

Forest Green have drawn 11 of their 39 fixtures to date and the stalemate on Wednesday is marketed at 13/5. The visitors are the 10/11 favourites to come away with the victory, as they did in the reverse fixture back in November.

Temi Babalola bagged a brace that day and he is 6/4 to score anytime on this occasion.

Given the form of the two teams and the difference in their league positions (six places), I think Forest Green are worth covering for the victory here but I would back Tamworth to get on the scoresheet, too.

Forest Green and BTTS - Yes is marked up at 11/5 (implied probability of 31.3%) which offers excellent value considering both these teams rank high in the division for games in which both sides have found the net.

Tamworth are second in the standings for this with 72% (28/39). The Lambs may be struggling at the moment but this market has landed in each of their previous four outings in the National League coming into this contest. They are still an attacking force to be wary of even if results aren't going their way right now.

In this table, Forest Green are fifth with 67% (26/39). With both clubs being involved in a lot of games featuring BTTS - Yes this term, it's only fair to assume that these trends will continue on Wednesday when they meet in Staffordshire.

There were plenty of goals on offer when the two sides met at The New Lawn back in November as the Green won 4-2. Forest Green head to The Lamb Ground having seen BTTS - Yes strike in seven of their past 10 fixtures in the National League, three of which have come on their travels.

Of those 10 games, Robbie Savage's side have won four and three of them have come across their most recent four. They are in much better shape than their hosts right now so I am confident they will be able to score more goals than Tamworth on Wednesday night.
