Fulham vs Burnley Prediction: Cottagers to serve up some capital punishment

Team News

Fulham remain without mononymed striker Kevin, who is waylaid following surgery to repair an injured metatarsal. The Cottagers also have midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe on the sidelines after picking up a knock in training last week.

Burnley have defender Axel Tuanzebe out with an Achilles problem. Alongside him in the treatment room are Josh Cullen and Zeki Amdouni (ACL), Jordan Beyer (knee) and Connor Roberts (Achilles).

Burnley have conceded more goals than any other team in the Premier League. Fulham are among the eight sides to score three or more goals in a single match against the troubled Turf Moor club this season. 

Burnley are nine points from safety with eight games remaining. Any urgency such prospects would inspire would surely have arrived by now. Instead, Scott Parker’s men face one of his former clubs having registered just one league victory since late October. 

Fulham have some demons to exorcise, coming off FA Cup elimination at the hands of Southampton sandwiched between a league loss and draw. Look for Marco Silva’s men to use Burnley for target practice.

Burnley have been losing at half time in their last seven of their last 10 outings. Most opposition lands a blow early on this punchy proposition. I reckon Fulham are great value to be leading at home in this one.

Fulham are in 11th place currently, which is where you’d expect to find Silva’s side. But they are just four points off eighth-placed London rivals Brentford. There is incentive to climb the Premier League’s greasy pole. Burnley might just be the towel they need to dry the way.
