The Championship delivered on Monday night as Coventry beat Middlesbrough 3-1 to return to the top of the table.

Blackburn 1-0 Preston @ 9/2

Michael O’Neill got off to a winning start at Blackburn with a 3-1 success at QPR to take them out of the bottom three, and on Friday night they host Preston North End. PNE are unbeaten in three and sit seventh, but I'll back the new manager bounce to continue here.

Nick: 1-1

Conor: 1-1

Hull 2 - 1 QPR @ 15/2

QPR have been disappointing lately with just one win from their last six, while Hull City were knocked out of the FA Cup by Chelsea at the weekend. With one point from their last two league games, the Tigers need to win this one, and I do think they will get the job done.

Nick: 3-1

Conor: 2-1

Stoke 1-1 Leicester @ 11/2

Stoke have dropped from second to 14th and look to be set for another mid-table finish, while Leicester are desperate to get out of the bottom three and have appointed Gary Rowett as the man to get them out of danger. A draw feels like the most likely outcome.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 1-1

Swansea 1-1 Bristol City @ 5/1

Can’t separate these two either. Swansea are good at home but Bristol City are so difficult to predict, beating Hull away from home and drawing 2-2 with Wrexham in their last two outings. Another draw.

Nick: 1-1

Conor: 2-2

WBA 0-2 Coventry @ 9/1

Coventry are back at the top of the league after that impressive win over Boro, which ended a run of two months of underperformance. Following it up with victory against a struggling Baggies outfit is crucial then, and I think Frank Lampard’s men will push on, full of confidence.

Nick: 1-3

Conor: 1-2

Middlesbrough 5-0 Oxford @ 28/1

Boro’s six-game winning streak came to an end at the CBS Arena, but they should have no trouble brushing Oxford aside at the Riverside. I’m expecting a response from Kim Hellberg’s side after that defeat - and things could get ugly for the U’s.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 3-0

Millwall 2-1 Portsmouth @ 7/1

Millwall scraped past Sheffield Wednesday, while Pompey earned a massive three points at the Valley in midweek to move away from danger. I think this game will suit the play-off candidates more, and the home side should get another three points here.

Nick: 2-0

Conor: 2-1

Norwich 3-2 Birmingham @ 22/1

The form team in the league right now, Norwich City, are looking to make it seven wins out of eight and Philippe Clement has them playing some superb football. Birmingham are on the fringes of the play-offs and have won their last two away games, but both of those wins have come against the bottom two. I’m back goals, and another home win.

Nick: 2-2

Conor: 2-2

Southampton 3-0 Charlton @ 10/1

Tonda Eckert has got Southampton going again and five wins out of six in all competitions sees their play-off push reignited, while they are still in the FA Cup. A dramatic 4-3 win over Leicester last time out in the league should give them more confidence, and after Charlton’s midweek loss, I think the Saints should storm this one.

Nick: 1-1

Conor: 3-1

Watford 1-2 Derby @ 10/1

Only Middlesbrough have picked up more away points than Derby County this season in the Championship, and having moved into the top six, I’m going to back John Eustace to get another win on the road. I haven’t seen enough of Ed Still at Watford to be completely convinced, so will need more time to judge him. Will back Derby for now.

Nick: 2-2

Conor: 1-2

Wrexham 2 - 2 Ipswich @ 12/1

These two met in the FA Cup as Wrexham secured a 1-0 win last weekend, but I’ll back promotion-chasing Ipswich to get a point in a high-scoring encounter. Ipswich could turn up and grab a statement win, but I like this Wrexham team and think they are good for a point.

Nick: 3-3

Conor: 2-2

Sheffield United 4-0 Sheffield Wednesday @ 7/1

Is this curtains for Wednesday? Relegation has been a certainty since they kicked off back in August but it will be mathematically confirmed at Bramall Lane if they lose to Sheffield United as long as West Brom don’t beat Coventry in the early kick-off. Straightforward stuff for the hosts.

Nick: 3-0

Conor: 3-0
