Wednesday Greyhound Tips: Can Michael Smyth repeat a tremendous trio?

Our resident greyhounds tipster Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle on X) played a blinder yesterday, landing a perfect three out of three from his Suffolk Downs picks. Follow our boy into battle again as he racks up another trio of tips from Doncaster.

1 pt 14:33 Doncaster – Redbrick Cantona (T6) @ SP

Three from three yesterday with Goldcash Prince, Tomahawk and New Ground all winning at Suffolk Downs. Today, we head to Doncaster with three selections on an ultra-competitive all-graded card at the Yorkshire venue. The B7 graded race at 14:33 over the four-bend 450-metre trip can go to well-drawn wide seed REDBRICK CANTONA in T6. The James Gaskin-trained August 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet is seven from nineteen in the grade and with a level break and clear run he can add to that impressive strike rate this afternoon.

The key is the break. There's plenty of early pace in the race. Cantona needs to trap well and turn on the tail of the leaders out of the second bend, do that and his natural middle gears will see him hit the front by the third bend and power clear.

1 pt 15:11 Doncaster – Sandwood Annie (T4) @ SP

The B3 graded race at 15:11 looks at the mercy of lightly raced SANDWOOD ANNIE who runs from T4. The October 2023 daughter of Confident Rankin has proven a little expensive to following recent weeks with defeats at 4/9 and 4/11. Today, if Annie gets it right at the boxes, she can lead round and return with winning ways.

Back on January 24, Annie trapped well, led round and clocked 28.03 following a flashy 2.18 sectional, a repeat of that would make her hard to beat. Redbrick Rose (T1) can show early pace and rates as the danger. It's imperative that Annie beats Rose into the first bend and leads down the back straight. Jazza Jenny (T2) will be staying on well and is worth including in forecast bets.

1 pt 17:03 Doncaster – Crystal Bale (T4) @ SP

The third and final selection at Doncaster this afternoon is CRYSTAL BALE, who runs from T4 in the D3 graded sprint at 17:03 over the two-bend 275-metre trip. Last time out on debut, Crystal Bale did everything right and was unfortunate not to win. The December 2024 daughter of Glengar Bale trapped well, led round and was a couple clear at the first bend. Cockneyalfitness mounted a challenge and checked behind Bale and clipped her back legs. This caused Crystal Bale to stumble and she finished second. The form is stronger than it reads on her racecard, and she looks a play this afternoon to break her maiden tag.

The key as ever over the sprint trip is the break, trap well and its race on. Glitter Alan (T5) drops into D3 company following two runs at a higher grade. He rates as a danger and is worth noting in the market. Rising Apollo (T6) is two from eight in the grade and will be staying on well off the final bend. He can chase home the selection and fill the forecast spot.
