Lucky 15 Tips: Sean’s got chances at ‘Rasen on Tuesday

Monday 16th February 2026, 17:30pm

We're coming off the back of an excellent week for winners, even if Saturday was all a bit mired in second-itis. Some great racing took place, fantastic finishes, and thrills aplenty.

For Tuesday's Lucky 15 tips let's motor over to Market Rasen, and their seven-race card that kicks in at 13:30. Sean Bowen's here, Gavin Sheehan, Nico de Boinville - the racing should be highly competitive, and spectacular!

15:02 - Snowrocco @ 6/1

This seven-year-old mare is by Breeders' Cup Turf winner Shirocco, and is trained in Northumberland by Adam Nicol.

Snowrocco won readily on New Year's Day over further than this 2m 4.5f at Musselburgh, and steps back from 3m this afternoon with a rather naughty 9lb penalty to contend with.

It was however quite a statement display and an emphatic career-best. Jockey Ryan Mania retains the partnership and while she's in peak form and definitely on the rise I think further support is entirely justified.

The trainer is operating at a 20% strike-rate at present over the last fortnight and while that might be relatively small beer for peak Skelton/Bowen-type runs, it's extremely respectable indeed.

15:37 - Aire Spray @ 11/2

Joel Parkinson and Sue Smith train this six-year-old gelded son of G1-winning Berkshire, handled back in his glory days by Paul Cole. Aire Spray has won twice so far from 12 career starts for the West Yorkshire-based duo, and looked to be coming into top gear last time at Newcastle, beaten 4l into second in a similar contest to this but over around 3f shorter.

It's a slight puzzle as to whether the extended trip is a sound move, but whereas his sire was perhaps best at around 10-12f  he's also out of a Getaway mare, and he won in decent company over 1m 7f.

If we can equate staying form on the flat with the likelihood of stamina being present for these jumping tests, which I'm sure we can, then there's every chance it might prove inspired. Sue Smith has proved masterful down the years too, with her staying types.

16:12 - Tom Creen @ 5/1

After two hurdle contests we're chasing now, over 2m 3f, and our selection is an 11-year-old veteran by superstar stayer and multiple Ascot Gold Cup winner Yeats.

Tom Creen didn't seem to appreciate a step up to 3m 2.5f last time at Sedgefield 23 days ago, fading tamely 2 out. On Boxing Day however at the same track he finished an excellent second beaten 3.5l in one of these affairs at around this shorter distance, and with a Racing Post rating he's only exceeded once before in his life.

He's in the care of husband and wife, jockey/trainer team Jonathan and Sam England on the edge of the West Yorkshire moors. He's won five of his 27 starts, and any repeat of that Christmas spin will see him surely in the very thick of it.

16:47 - Freeriding @ 6/5

The great Sean Bowen has several fine chances on the card, and this is one I'm hoping he'll take, for trainer Olly Murphy.

The four-year-old filly Freeriding is by a high-calibre American miler and is yet to stretch her legs under rules. She debuts then in this bumper and gets the 7lb fairer sex allowance from three of her four rivals.

She's closely related to a couple of winners on the flat and the trainer/jockey combination has been one of the most successful of the last couple of seasons. It's likely she'll know her job and will be fancied to make a winning start.

If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £670 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
