Burnley vs Mansfield Prediction: Clarets can savour FA Cup joy

Burnley host Mansfield Town at Turf Moor this Saturday, February 14. A Valentine’s Day union that might be happier than the Lancashire club’s crumbling love affair with the Premier League. The FA Cup fourth round is the occasion for this tryst (15:00 GMT).

Team News
An Achilles tendon injury to defender Axel Tuanzebe has added to the Clarets’ medical woes. He could be joined by a former Manchester United colleague on the sidelines. Midfielder Hannibal Mejbri faces a late fitness test, having come off with seven minutes of the 3-2 win over Crystal Palace remaining.
Long-term injuries have sidelined Jordan Beyer (thigh), Josh Cullen (knee), Connor Roberts (ankle), Zeki Amdouni (knee) and Mike Tresor (foot).
Mansfield are expected to miss Baily Cargill, who was withdrawn an hour into Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Peterborough.

Jaidon Anthony to score anytime @ 7/5
Anthony’s hot streak at the start of the season had Clarets fans dreaming. But after four goals in his six appearances this term, the Burnley forward dropped off. Anthony has scored just twice in the Premier League since.
But the most recent of those strikes was in Burnley’s last outing; the 3-2 victory over Palace. Anthony also popped up with a goal in the third round; a 5-1 thumping of Millwall. I reckon that, with his tail up, Anthony can do the job on Saturday afternoon.

Burnley to win both halves @ 11/5
This season has been one to forget for Burnley. Scott Parker’s side are mired in 19th place in the Premier League, with a nine-point gulf to safety.
But the FA Cup can provide some temporary salve for those wounds. Mansfield are mid-table fare in League 1. A swashbuckling 4-3 win over Sheffield United was one of the highlights of round three. But Nigel Clough’s team look underequipped to keep Premier League opposition off their backs.
I could see Burnley putting them to the sword in the same way they did Championship Millwall. The Clarets had three goals before the break in that one, adding two after. I could see similar unfolding here to help us land this 21/10 selection.
