Blackburn vs Sheffield Wednesday Prediction: 11/4 for Rovers to continue four-game trend

Managerless Blackburn Rovers have a huge chance to climb out of the bottom three of the Championship on Tuesday when they host League 1-bound Sheffield Wednesday at Ewood Park (19:45 GMT).
The home side announced on Monday that boss Valerien Ismael had left the club following a difficult year in charge. My Blackburn vs Sheffield Wednesday predictions follow, along with the latest team news and Betfred’s match odds.

Team News
Rovers' biggest concern will be over the readiness of the XI which were narrowly beaten by promotion-chasing Hull City to back up three days on from that 1-0 defeat.
Adam Forshaw could find his spot in the centre of midfield taken by Moussa Baradji, while Yuki Ohashi, the scorer of the only goal in the previous attempt to play this fixture, could be moved into the attacking midfield line to allow Andri Gudjohnsen a start up top.
Blackburn are still without the likes of Ryan Hedges, Scott Wharton, Sidnei Tavares, Matty Litherland and Augustus Kargbo.
For Wednesday there remains little in the way of good news. Besides having a scratch squad, they’re also missing Pierce Charles, Max Lowe, Sean Fusire, Di’Shon Bernard, Dominic Iorfa, Nathaniel Chalobah, Gui Siqueira, Logan Stretch, George Brown and Ernie Weaver.
Tayo Adaramola ought to come straight in after completing a loan move from Crystal Palace, with Reece Johnson likely to step down to the bench.
Charlie McNeill could be considered for a start, but Jerry Yates came through his Owls debut well on Saturday against Wrexham so may continue in the initial XI.

Blackburn vs Sheffield Wednesday Odds
Sheffield Wednesday might never be favourites to win anything ever again at this rate. They’re a 15/2 shot to record only a second win this season, and a first in 25 matches.
Blackburn are 2/5 for the victory that would take them out of the relegation zone, while it’s 7/2 about the draw.
Rovers are 21/10 to win both halves, while a Wednesday clean sheet is priced at 11/2.
Only Blackburn to Score @ 21/20
There can surely be no other result than a Blackburn win on Tuesday.
I know how perverse that might sound given Rovers’ travails on their home turf and the uncertainty caused by Ismael's departure, but the reality is that Wednesday are as weak as they’ve been at any point in this horrendous season.
While Blackburn have won only 13.3% of their home games this term, they did lead 1-0 when these two sides were ordered off after an hour back in December.
They also kept Wednesday out in the game at Hillsborough which began this eight-match run of futility the Owls are currently on.
So 21/20 at an implied 48.8% about the visitors going goalless once more in defeat is a fairly straight-forward pick.

Half-Time/Full-Time: Draw/Blackburn @ 11/4
Some opposition fans of late have praised Wednesday for their durability, but Owls fans have seen the same movie many times in recent weeks.
Portsmouth, Birmingham City, Bristol City and Wrexham all played the long game in the last four matches in seeing off a side destined to record the worst completed season in Football League history.
Wednesday stay in games, get a foothold, but then fold as soon as opponents up the tempo to go for the jugular. And that should happen again at Ewood on Tuesday.
And in response, Henrik Pedersen has no quality on his bench to hit back and no inclination to mix things up early enough to make any real difference. Getting on Blackburn to play the waiting game at 11/4 seems the sensible choice.
