Slavia Prague are yet to win in the Champions League - one of only four sides in the league phase - and they have a very tough assignment this week, as they welcome Barcelona to the Fortuna Arena. TNT Sports 6 for UK viewers with kick-off set for 20:00.

Our La Liga Betting Expert got the assignment for this match and he's fairly confident that the hosts will continue their record of no wins, let's check out why with his Slavia Prague vs Barcelona Predictions, here on Betfred Insights...

Match Preview:

Barcelona have won every domestic trophy on offer since Hansi Flick took charge in 2024. However, Champions League glory has remained elusive for the Catalans since their last European title more than a decade ago. They can boost their chances in this season's competition by winning in Prague on Wednesday.

Having already lost to PSG and Chelsea, Barça are only in the middle section of the standings ahead of their final two matches. They will need to win both to have a realistic shot at making the top eight, and that shouldn't be beyond their capabilities, given they finish at home to FC Copenhagen next week.

Overall, Flick will be happy with the direction his side has been heading in, since a concerning 3-0 loss at Stamford Bridge in November. The evidence that night was of a team even further away from ending their continental trophy drought than was the case last season, when they lost an all-time classic semi-final against Inter 7-6 on aggregate.

Barça responded to the Chelsea defeat with 11 straight victories in all competitions. That included a 3-2 triumph over Real Madrid in the final of the Spanish Supercopa earlier this month. However, their winning streak ended with a 2-1 loss away to Real Sociedad in La Liga on Sunday.

That was an exciting game that the visitors may feel they should have won. They rattled the woodwork on several occasions, and also had goals disallowed as the Basques held on for a surprise three points.

On paper, this match should present the leaders of La Liga with a good opportunity to bounce back immediately. Slavia Prague are still on their domestic winter break, which could leave them a little rusty as they prepare to take on one of the continent's strongest teams.

The Czech side haven't exactly set the world on fire in this competition in any case. Since drawing their opening league phase fixture 2-2 against Bodø/Glimt, Slavia have failed to score a goal in five European outings, and have only collected two further points.

Even if they were to win their final two matches, that may not even be enough for them to progress into the knockout phase play-offs. Jindřich Trpišovský's side were dealt a relatively tough schedule, and they've already been beaten 3-0 on three separate occasions, by Inter, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Their poor Champions League form has been in contrast to another strong domestic campaign, with Slavia still unbeaten in the Czech First League, and leading city rivals Sparta by seven points at the top of the standings. Tomáš Chorý and Mojmír Chytil have formed a strong partnership up front, with a combined tally of 16 league goals, although neither has netted on the European stage.

Team News:

Slavia Prague are still missing defender Dominik Javorček due to a long-term injury, but they have no fresh injuries or suspensions. Their squad should be well rested, having not played competitively since a 4-3 league win over Jablonec in mid-December.

As for Barcelona, they'll be missing Lamine Yamal in the Czech capital. The teenager is suspended after picking up his third booking in the competition against Eintracht Frankfurt last month. Ferran Torres has also picked up a hamstring injury and will miss out, while Gavi and Andreas Christensen remain sidelined.

In better news for the visitors, Raphinha is available again after missing the defeat in San Sebastián. Flick is therefore expected to make a number of changes in attack, with Marcus Rashford also pushing for a recall, after the Englishman came off the bench to score on Sunday.

Slavia Prague vs Barcelona Predicted Lineups

  • Slavia Prague: Stanek, Holes, Chaloupek, Ogbu, Zima, Doudera, Moses, Provod, Sadilek, Sanyang, Chytil
  • Barcelona: J. Garcia, Kounde, Cubarsi, E. Garcia, Balde, Pedri, De Jong, Fermin, Raphinha, Rashford, F. Torres

Match Odds:

Slavia Prague are priced at 15/2 to cause a major upset on Wednesday night. You can back the visitors to take care of business and win the game at 1/3, while the Draw is on offer at 9/2.

If you fancy Barcelona to bounce back from their weekend setback in style, they are priced at 5/2 to score over 3.5 goals, while you can back an away win to nil at odds of 8/5.

Alternatively, Both teams to score is priced at 8/13. You can back Slavia to win either half at 5/2, while the hosts are on offer at 9/10 with a +2.00 Handicap.

Ferran's absence should present Robert Lewandowski with an opportunity to lead the line. The veteran striker is the 3/1 favourite to score first, while you can back him to score anytime at 4/6.

Raphinha has also been in good form in front of goal, and he's on offer at 9/10 to score anytime, while you can back Rashford to get on the scoresheet at 21/20.

Chorý should start up top for the hosts, and he's priced at 9/1 to score first, and 5/2 to score anytime.

Slavia Prague vs Barcelona Stats

  • Barcelona only have an xG of 9.5 but have scored 14 times.
  • Both teams have conceded 11 times so far in the Champions League.
  • Slavia Prague have only scored twice - the lowest number in the league phase.

Bet 1 - Barcelona -1.00 Handicap @ 5/6

This is a key game for Barcelona as they target direct passage into the round of 16. They also have a favourable weekend fixture at home to Real Oviedo coming up, so there's little doubt that Flick will go as strong as possible in terms of his team selection.

Having already suffered three defeats by three-goal margins in this competition, it's hard to make much of a case for Slavia Prague. Their lack of match sharpness could also be an issue.

Barça have tightened up defensively of late, with six clean sheets in eight matches since they last played in the Champions League. I'm expecting them to have too much across the pitch in this game, and I'm backing Barcelona -1.00 Handicap at 5/6.

Bet 2 - Barcelona to score over 2.5 goals & Robert Lewandowski to score anytime @ 13/10

Punters concerned by the absence of Yamal should take note that Barcelona won 5-0 a fortnight ago against Athletic Club, with their young star only coming on late in the game after all of the goals. Raphinha was instrumental on that occasion and his expected return is key.

With youngster Roony Bardghji also impressing so far in 2026, the visitors do have enough depth to cope with their attacking absentees, and still leave some quality on the bench. They'll certainly be hungry for a big win if possible, with goal difference potentially decisive when the league phase concludes next week.

Lewandowski should offer the main goal threat for the visitors. Despite his age, the Polish international is still averaging a strike every 108 minutes across La Liga and Champions League football this season. Given that, I'm using the Bet Builder to back Barcelona to score over 2.5 goals and Lewandowski to score anytime at 13/10.
