Ipswich will look to keep pressure on the top two in the Championship when they welcome Bristol City to Portman Road on Tuesday (19:45 GMT, SkySports+).

Kieran McKenna's team are third in the second-tier standings, two points behind second-placed Middlesbrough. They also have a game in hand and Tuesday's fixture represents a winnable opportunity, even though the Robins are ninth in the table and only three points off the top six.

Team News

Ipswich forward Jaden Philogene is expected to miss this midweek encounter after suffering an injury in Saturday's 3-0 win over Blackburn. He was replaced after 39 minutes by Jack Clarke, and it should be the former Leeds United and Sunderland ace who gets the nod to start.

George Hirst returned from injury against Blackburn and will look to build up his minutes from the bench, but Conor Townsend remains sidelined through injury.

Bristol City still have Luke McNally, Joe Williams, Cameron Pring, Max Bird and Jason Knight in the treatment room, but goalkeeper Radek Vitek returned to keep a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw against Oxford last week.

Ipswich to win to nil @ 6/4

Ipswich look primed for an automatic promotion push and they will be full of confidence ahead of Tuesday's encounter.

McKenna's team have the second-best home record in the second tier, having earned 31 points from 14 matches. Only Coventry have performed better and the hosts come into this game looking to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches in all competitions.

Ipswich have only lost once in front of their own fans all season and they should be able to keep the Robins at bay, with Gerhard Struber's side winning just two of their previous eight on the road.
