Monday Racing Tips: Siouxfonic can get his head in front once again

There’s no racing in Ireland on Monday and that leaves us with just three meetings taking place across Britain, two of which are on the all-weather and there’s one Jumps card.
Amongst our Monday Racing Tips is one for James Owen who managed to come out on top last time out and the gelding looks well set to go close once again, despite carrying a penalty.

13:38 Kempton - Magna @ 6/4
Tony Carroll had a terrific campaign last year and managed to pass the £1,000,000 mark in prize money as he landed 128 winners along the way. He already has 14 winners to his name in 2026 and currently sits at the top of the prize money table.
MAGNA won on her final start of 2025, getting the better of Analytical Engine by a length here at Kempton, and a 4lb rise wasn’t enough to prevent her from following up at Southwell next time. It was a narrow success so another 4lb rise doesn’t appear to be very generous.
That being said, she’s thriving over 6f at the moment and looks worth keeping on side for the time being. It’s noteworthy that Oisin Murphy has been booked for the ride and Carroll’s four-year-old could have some more improvement up her sleeve.

14:38 Kempton - Siouxfonic @ 2/1
James Owen is a very shrewd operator and is definitely a trainer to follow across both codes. He runs five-year-old SIOUXFONIC at Kempton and a follow up victory could be on the cards.
Having had just two starts thus far, there should be plenty more to come.
Starting off in bumpers, he made his debut on the Flat at Southwell in November and ran a stormer to finish second by a neck. Owen’s gelding kept on strongly at the business end of the race and probably would have caught the winner with another stride or two.
Victory was on the cards at Wolverhampton next time and he showed a good attitude to hold off the fast-finishing Caliban.
The front two were well clear of the rest that day and he’s expected to confirm the form with Caliban, having finished in front of him twice already.

16:08 Kempton - I’m Workin On It @ 2/1
Rod Millman’s I’M WORKIN ON IT showed very little in three starts in maiden and novice company in the autumn of 2024 but it was a very different story once switched to handicaps last summer.
All four of his handicap starts have been decent and he’s clearly capable of winning more races.
This son of Harry Angel ran out an impressive winner over course and distance on handicap debut in August and he was raised 8lb by the handicapper as a result.
Held up in the early stages, Lewis Edmunds asked for more effort with a couple of furlongs to go and the response was immediate. He hit the front in the final furlong and kicked clear to score by two-and-a-quarter lengths.
Millman’s gelding was a neck away from winning once more here in November and was second again at Southwell over Christmas.
The handicapper has put him up another 1lb since but still stands out in this 11-strong field.
