Newcastle to win
Newcastle have built up some good form in recent weeks when it comes to the Premier League. They are on the best winning run in the division right now, and they will look to keep that going as they seek to push their way into the top four.
The Magpies are sixth and three points behind Liverpool (at the time of writing). Wolves may be on an upward trajectory based on recent results, but Eddie Howe's side should still fancy their chances of beating the team who sit at the bottom of the table.
Nick Woltemade was the match-winner at St. James' Park when the two teams met back in September, but the visitors have been improving a lot in front of goal since then.
Eddie Howe's side have managed to score three-plus goals in two of their last three league wins, and with the attacking resources at their disposal, they should be able to secure a valuable three points here.
Both Teams to Score - Yes
With Wolves being at home, and the Old Gold going three games unbeaten in the top flight, four when counting their 6-1 FA Cup triumph over Shrewsbury Town, I think they can ask questions of Newcastle's defence, which is not as solid as Howe would like it to be.
In their last three competitive matches, the Magpies have conceded seven goals (in regulation time), and BTTS - Yes has been a winning selection in four of their previous seven competitive fixtures.
For Wolves, there have been goals at both ends in four of their last five outings in all competitions, and so I think this trend for both clubs can continue when they meet on Sunday afternoon.
Wolves vs Newcastle Bet Builder Stats
- Newcastle have won three league games on the spin
- Three of Wolves' past four PL matches have seen both teams score
- Three of Newcastle's last five league fixtures have produced over 3.5 goals
Over 3.5 Goals
Goals have not been in short supply in games involving Newcastle of late. There have been at least four goals scored in four of their past seven competitive appearances, including two of their latest three heading into the weekend.
There were also seven goals scored in Wolves' 6-1 demolition of Shrewsbury last time out, with striker Jorgen Strand Larsen netting a hat-trick. The forward has really struggled for the Old Gold this term with just one league goal to his name so far, having bagged 14 last season.
Boss Rob Edwards will be hoping that last week's goals can give him the lift he needs to get back to the player he was last term. If that is the case, he could have a part to play in helping Sunday's clash with Newcastle produce a flurry of goals.
Bruno Guimaraes to score anytime
Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes has already accomplished his best-scoring season in the Premier League, with eight goals already to his name. The Brazilian midfielder has been a much bigger threat in the final third than we have seen in recent years and his 12/5 price to score felt too good to ignore to round off this Bet Builder.
The Newcastle skipper will be hoping that he can find the net on Sunday so that his scoring streak can stretch to four consecutive matches in the top flight, having recently struck against Burnley, Crystal Palace and Leeds United.
