Football Bet of the Day: Another dominant Bayern display

Bayern Munich are sitting comfortably at the top of the Bundesliga table. Vincent Kompany's side are eight points ahead of Borussia Dortmund in second but they have the chance to restore the gap to 11 points when they travel to Koln on Wednesday (19:30 GMT, Sky Sports+).

Koln are winless in seven league games and they are 10/1 to stun the league leaders.

Four of their previous six Bundesliga matches have ended in a stalemate, with the draw priced at 11/2.

Bayern remain unbeaten in the top flight this term and they are the 2/9 favourites to come away with the three points.

Given the visitors' excellent form and the current struggles of Koln, I am confident that Bayern win this match but I am having to seek value elsewhere for my Bet of the Day.

One market that jumps out for me is the to win both halves market, which is priced at an appealing 5/4. This offers good value because this is a selection that has been quite successful for Bayern in the Bundesliga this season.

It has been a winning bet in eight of their 16 matches to date, including each of their past two outings against Heidenheim and Wolfsburg. This selection has also struck in three of their last four games in the top flight, so this out-of-form Koln side may be dreading this contest.

Across Bayern's 16 appearances in the Bundesliga, Die Roten have scored a jaw-dropping 63 goals, meaning they are averaging 3.9 per game.

Bayern are a team flying at the moment as they remain unbeaten in the league. Boss Kompany is blessed with a lot of attacking talent in the form of Harry Kane, Luis Diaz, Michael Olise and Serge Gnabry, with the former three scoring 38 goals between them.

They all link up brilliantly in the final third and they are still waiting for another star in Jamal Musiala to return from a long-term injury. Bayern's attackers are in good form and they will be raring to go on Wednesday as they try to restore their 11-point lead at the summit.

I think what also boosts this selection's appeal is the fact that it landed when the two teams met here in October for the second round of the DFB-Pokal, with Bayern running out 4-1 winners.

Kane (two), Olise and Diaz were the scorers on that occasion and I am expecting this exciting trio to terrorise the Billy Goats for the second time in 2025/26. As such, I think 5/4 is an excellent price for Die Bayern to prevail in both halves on Wednesday evening.
