Anyway, on Thursday night (19:00 GMT, TNT Sports 1) we’ve got a Madrid derby to look forward to - and it takes place less than 3000 miles from the Spanish capital - at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium near Jeddah.

Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid Odds

Atletico Madrid are back in Saudi having missed out on the Super Cup in 2025, but these two did meet in 2024 in a semi-final, as Real Madrid ran out 5-3 winners. That was a superb watch, and I think we can expect a similar high-scoring encounter here.

These games in Saudi do tend to produce goals, last year Barcelona hammered Real Madrid 5-2 in the final, while in 2024 Los Blancos won the final 4-1 against the same opposition.

Now, I know what you are thinking - Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid are not a free-scoring side. But the stubborn manager has actually tweaked his methods in the last few years and now they are a more free-flowing outfit - with some fantastic attacking talent.

They’ve scored 34 goals in 19 La Liga fixtures, with Julian Alvarez, Alexander Sorloth and Antoine Griezmann all dangerous forwards for Los Blancos to contend with. Real Madrid have scored 41 goals in the league this season and their attack doesn’t need any introduction - so basically, I think there will be plenty of goals - as there was in La Liga as Atletico ran out 5-2 winners in September.

Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid - Price Boosts
Both Teams to Score, Both Teams 5+ Corners & Both Teams 20+ Booking Pts

Odds correct at time of publishing.

I like the look of this particular Price Boost because we should get an end-to-end encounter, and both teams should be able to nail at least five corners apiece. Real Madrid are averaging 6.26 corners per game in La Liga, while Atletico are winning a whopping 6.79 per 90, so if both clubs maintain that - they should get five apiece in Saudi.

Finally, we come to cards, and these two do love a battle. Earlier in the season in the 5-2, Real Madrid picked up six cards and Atleti got five, so getting two each in this one really doesn’t seem too much to ask.

I like this pick a lot - and this should be another entertaining and unpredictable Madrid derby. Even if they are 2,800 miles away from home.
