Aston Villa (H) to beat Nottingham Forest @ 8/11
Villa were handed a bit of a lesson by Arsenal last time out, as the league leaders hammered four goals past them to end their winning streak. However, I don’t think there is too much to be worried about from a Villa perspective and they should be able to bounce back on home soil.
They face a Forest outfit that has lost their last three games on the bounce and look slightly short of confidence right now. Villa have won seven from nine at home this term in the league, and Unai Emery should get them back on track.
Brighton (H) to beat Burnley @ 4/9
Burnley look destined for relegation, and they’ve not been able to win many games this term (three). Recent draws against Bournemouth and Everton weren’t enough to take them closer to safety, and now they sit six points adrift of Nottingham Forest in 17th.
Brighton themselves are winless in six, but should have more than enough to edge past Burnley at home.

Arsenal (A) to beat Bournemouth @ 4/9
The league leaders extended their lead at the top to four points after Manchester City failed to beat Sunderland on New Year’s Day and Mikel Arteta will be hoping his side can make it five wins on the bounce at Bournemouth.
Bournemouth are set to lose Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City, but the Citizens are hoping he can damage their title rivals before he departs AFCB, but I still would rather side with the Gunners on this occasion.
Villarreal (A) to beat Elche @ 6/5
Over to Spain now where Villarreal travel to face Elche on Saturday. The Yellow Submarines have lost their last two games, to Barcelona and to Racing in the Copa del Rey, but they have been fantastic in the league and will have been refreshed by the winter break.
11 wins out of 16 show the strength of this squad and Marcelino Garcia Toral is doing a fantastic job right now. Meanwhile, Elche sit ninth and are a dangerous outfit, having beaten Rayo 4-0 prior to the break.
Lille (H) to beat Rennes @ 9/10
We finish in France, and Lille were in flying form before the break winning their last four games. They won 4-3 in that thriller against Auxerre when both teams finished with nine men, and I’m hoping that they can get the win over Rennes.
This should be a close game given Rennes have won four of their last five and sit sixth, but they’ve only won two games out of eight on the road. I’ll back a home win here, as I think Lille will just about edge it.
