Horse Racing Tips: Sole could be the solution at Haydock

There are three meetings in Britain to take in on Tuesday, two of which are national hunt fixtures and one on the all-weather. Haydock is first up and their feature race is the Final Fling Handicap Chase, while there's a Listed contest for mares on offer at Taunton.
Wolverhampton takes us through the evening and their second race looks like a decent sprint handicap. Among our Tuesday selections is one for Venetia Williams who was a progressive novice hurdler last term and there could be more to come over fences.

13:35 Haydock - Ned Tanner @ 11/2
There's a decent prize on offer for this Class 3 event at Haydock and it could go the way of Nick Alexander’s NED TANNER, who looks very well handicapped on his best form.
The nine-year-old showed signs of a return to form at Aintree last time and he has had wind surgery since then, which is surely a positive.
Finishing third that day, he ran well for a long way but eventually felt the effects of a bad mistake at the 12th fence and faded.
It's also noted that he's been dropped 1lb since and is back down to his last winning mark.
That success came in a 0-140 at Ayr back in March and he was firmly in control that day.
This race looks a little easier so a return to winning ways could be on the cards.

14:05 Haydock - Sole Solution @ 9/4
Venetia Williams’ SOLE SOLUTION was progressive as a novice hurdler last season and Buckna was the well beaten second in an outing at Hereford in January.
That rival has since gone on to win twice over fences and is now rated 122, so Sole Solution could be much better than a 119 horse.
Lightly raced in handicap company, he then out-battled Kalif d'Airy, who has since won over fences too, at Sandown in February.
Williams' gelding showed a good attitude that day and it's unlikely that we've seen the best of him just yet.
Williams' runners tend to improve significantly once sent over fences and it should be a similar story in this Haydock event.
Sole Solution ran a nice race to finish third on seasonal debut at Uttoxeter in December and should be going close in this weaker race if taking a step forward.

14:20 Taunton - St Irene @ 10/3
Southwell bumper winner ST IRENE was a fair performer in that sphere for Ben Brookhouse and managed to place in a Listed contest, before finishing down the field in a Grade 2 mares race at Aintree in the spring.
Making the switch to rookie trainer Nick Schofield over the summer, she ran a nice race to finish second in a Class 2 mares’ novice at Newbury in November and the form is working out really well.
She could hardly have been more impressive when going one better at Wincanton next time and further progress is anticipated in this Taunton contest.
