Weekend Football Accumulator Tips: Legs from Scotland, Italy & Portugal

The 3-3-3 column this week causes Jamie to check out some new countries with several top European leagues on a break. Serie A and the Portuguese Primeira Liga are regulars but we have a selection from the SPL for the first time added to the mix.
Let's see if Jamie can do this thing as we take a look at his Weekend Accumulator Football Tips with the latest instalment of his 3-3-3 column...
Weekend Football Accumulator Tips - Cross European Treble
- Livingston v Celtic - Back Over 2.5 Goals @ 8/15
- Atalanta v Inter Milan - Back Inter to win @ 1/1
- Sporting Lisbon v Rio Ave - Back Sporting to score in both halves @ 8/15
- Treble Odds = 3.7/1
Last year, the 3-3-3 column returned a profit of 17 points, which means that if you'd backed every treble recommended over the course of the season for level £10 stakes, you'd be up by £170. That's one of the better returns you'll see in the tipping business and speaking of returns, Jamie Pacheco is returning again this year to do try to do it all over again, and maybe even improve on it.
Welcome to the 3-3-3 betting column. Why is it called that? Glad you asked. It's not a formation to play when you've had a man sent off but rather:
3 - The number of different selections making up the acca.
3 - The number of different (non-English) European Leagues the selections are taken from every week.
3 - The minimum odds (3/1) or 4.0 if you prefer, that the acca will come to it every week.
And it really is as simple as that. The selections can be from any betting markets, as long as they meet the criteria set out above. And to round things off, every week I'll leave you with a cool (or at least I think so) bit of trivia involving one of the teams featured in the acca. Simples...
2025-26 season Current P and L: +2.97 pts
2024-25 season's P and L: + 16.9
Well, well, well, of all the teams to have let us down last week, I really didn't think it was going to be Roma. We just about got our BTTS in Levante v Sociedad when it ended 1-1, and Bayern got four goals when we needed just three, but alas, a rare over 2.5 goals match when Roma travelled to Juventus ruined it all for us. All the more frustrating because Roma had been on such a strong run of low-scoring matches.
But then again, some would argue they were due one that wasn't (low-scoring), the game ending 2-1.
So a bitter pill to swallow but we still have three more shots at increasing our profit before we get into the danger zone (being in the red). Let's try and do so at the first time of asking.
- Livingston v Celtic
- Saturday 27 December 15:00
- Back Over 2.5 Goals @ 8/15
There are no matches from France or Spain over the Christmas period, so for the second week running, we turn our attention to a match from a league we don't normally focus on: this time the Scottish Premiership.
That said, this one isn't a hard choice to make.
Celtic matches this season have been full of goals. That could be a result of the fact that they're a bit too good (they're only second in the table, mind) for the rest, or that the standard of defending in this league isn't the best. We don't really know which of the two it is, and to a large extent, we really don't care.
But let's consider the stats: 66% of their home games have gone 'overs' as have 50% of their away games in the league. Throw in three Europa League games into the equation, and it's 12 of their last 15 that have gone 'overs'.
Opponents Kilmarnock have a decent record of their own with 50% of home fixtures and 75% of away ones having at least three goals in them, while the last fixtures between them at Kilmarnock ended 0-3, 0-3, 0-3, and 1-3, so would all have been winners. Meaning this selection is a decent place to start.
- Atalanta v Inter Milan
- Sunday 28th December 19:45
- Back Inter to win @ 1/1
This one is our big gamble of the week (in the sense that it's at a much bigger price) but I think it's a justified one.
Inter are the best team in the league, with a fine manager and by far the best-assembled squad in the division.
They really should be considerably ahead of the field, yet three teams are all within three points of them. I think sooner or later, they'll pull away from the rest, and a win here against Atlanta would certainly help.
The latter are down in ninth with (as you'd expect) mixed results: 5 wins, 7 draws, 4 losses. Their recent form has actually been pretty good, but a good win (in the Champions League, so of less relevance) against Chelsea aside, they've been playing pretty weak teams.
This is the best side they'll play in Serie A this season and Inter have a strong record here, which is the key factor. In their last three visits here, they won 2-0, 2-1, and 3-2, so let's hope they make it four in a row.
- Sporting Lisbon v Rio Ave
- Sunday 28th December 20:30
- Back Sporting to score in both halves @ 8/15
The reason I think Sporting will probably end up winning the league is that they'll score lots of goals. Sounds obvious, I know, but while Benfica, for example, are crawling their way to 1-0, 2-1 wins, Sporting are sprinting towards far more comfortable ones. The 42 goals they've scored in the league are nine more than the next best, Porto, who are five points better off than them.
For example: they've won five of their last seven, in that period losing 3-1 at Bayern (no disgrace there) and drawing 1-1 with Benfica.
But in those five wins, the scores were: 4-1, 6-0, 4-0, 3-0 and 3-0.
In all those wins, they scored in both halves, so it shouldn't be too much of an ask that they carry on that trend against a team down in 10th that they've beaten 3-1, 2-0 and 3-0 the last times they played in Lisbon; in two of those three they scored in both halves.
Jamie's Fun Fact
It's perhaps not that surprising Sporting have scored so many goals domestically. After all, 12 different players have scored in the Superliga, with Luis Suarez netting 11 all by himself.
