Sheffield Wednesday vs Derby Prediction: Big price for away card

Sheffield Wednesday put in a strong performance in midweek and were only denied their second three points of the season by a late Watford equaliser. The Owls will hope to give their fans another performance to cheer as they host Derby County on Monday night (20:00 GMT, Sky Sports Football).
The Rams are winless in three and sit 16th, and below you can find my Sheffield Wednesday vs Derby predictions.

Team News
Pierce Charles is back fit and played in midweek for Sheffield Wednesday, which does come as a boost to their goalkeeping department. Nathaniel Chalobah made his long-awaited comeback against his former club in midweek and he could be brought in to start this one, with Max Lowe also playing the full 90 in the back three.
Barry Bannan picked up a knock and it remains to be seen whether he will be fit to start here, but George Brown could return to the matchday squad. Charlie McNeil now has three goals in his last two appearances and should feature again in the final third.
Derby boss John Eustace could stick with the XI that earned a 1-1 draw with Millwall on Wednesday night, although Rhian Brewster could replace Andreas Weimann up top - as the pair bid for a spot alongside Patrick Agyemang and Ben Brereton Diaz in an aggressive front three.
Lewis Travis could return to the squad on Monday night while captain Ebou Adams got five minutes off the bench in midweek and should feature in the middle of the park.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Derby Stats
- Derby are winless in three
- There have been under 2.5 goals in 50% of Derby's matches
- Dion Sanderson has five yellows this term
Under 2.5 goals @ 8/11
Without Carlton Morris, Derby are struggling to have quite the same bite as they did when they went on that winning streak. However, both teams have scored in their last nine outings so I am going against the grain here, but for good reason.
Sheffield Wednesday now have their first-choice goalkeeper back, while Liam Cooper has come in to strengthen the back three. With a few other players coming back to fitness I think they can put in a strong defensive showing, and keep the score fairly low. Both teams are set to play three centre-backs, and I think they may just cancel each other out.
Derby have seen three goals or more in 50% of their matches this season, while Sheff Wed sit at 58% - but I think this might be a bit of a stale affair.

Dion Sanderson to be booked @ 3/1
Dion Sanderson has been pretty much a mainstay in the Derby defence this season, with Eustace a big fan of his. He is certainly growing into the season at centre-back, but has already picked up five yellows this term, and served a one-match suspension.
Against a lively Wednesday attack, I think he could be forced to get stuck in once again, and give I believe this will be a low-scoring battle, rather than a free-flowing, easy on the eye encounter, I will back Sanderson to get booked at a rather tasty price.
