Team News
Bilbao are missing Aitor Paredes through suspension after the defender collected his third yellow card of the league phase against Slavia Prague in the last round of fixtures. Yeray Alvarez is serving a much longer suspension because of doping.
Robert Navarro (thigh), Benat Prados, Unai Egiluz (both cruciate ligament), Maroan Sannadi (meniscus), Aymeric Laporte (leg) and Inaki Williams (muscle) are all in the treatment room for the hosts.
PSG boss Luis Enrique will have to cope with a suspension as Lucas Hernandez was shown a red card against Tottenham Hotspur on matchday five.
Les Parisiens are also going to be missing key figures Desire Doue (thigh) and Achraf Hakimi (ankle) due to injury. Ousmane Dembele could be set for his first European start of the campaign after injuries have disrupted his start to the campaign.
Lucas Beraldo (calf), Nuno Mendes (thigh), Lucas Chevalier (ankle) and Illia Zabarnyi (illness) will need to be assessed ahead of the game.
Athletic Bilbao vs PSG Predicted Lineups
- Athletic Bilbao: Simon; Areso, Vivian, Lekue, Berchiche; Ruiz de Galarreta, Jauregizar; Berenguer, Sancet, N Williams; Guruzeta
- PSG: Chevalier; Zaire-Emery, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz; Dembele, Barcola, Kvaratskhelia
Bilbao have just the one victory in five games in this competition so far and they are 9/2 to stun the reigning champions.
The draw is available at 3/1, which the hosts have also experienced once in the UCL this season.
PSG are 8/13 to come away with the victory, which they have accomplished four times already.
Over 3.5 Goals has landed in three of the visitors' five appearances in the Champions League this term and this market is on offer at 2/1, which has an implied probability of 33.3%.
Athletic Bilbao vs PSG Stats
- BTTS - Yes has landed in three of PSG's four wins in the UCL this season
- Over 3.5 Goals has struck in three of PSG's five European matches this term
Match Result & BTTS - PSG & Yes @ 9/4
PSG are loving life in the Champions League. The defending champions sit second in the table behind Arsenal but there is still work to be done to secure an automatic qualifying spot.
Given how well things are going for the French outfit, they should be confident heading to Bilbao as Athletic Club are struggling to have much of an impact in the league phase so far. Four points is all the hosts have so far and it is hard to see that figure improving against Les Parisiens.
PSG have already brushed aside Atalanta, beaten Barcelona and won a thriller against Tottenham last time out. Despite some injuries, Luis Enrique still has a lot of talent at his disposal and I'm confident that this will be too much for Athletic Bilbao to handle.
The hosts can play their part, though, especially as they will be desperate to get a result. I do see them getting on the scoresheet because BTTS - Yes has been a successful bet in each of PSG's previous four appearances in the UCL.

Total Goals - Over 3.5 @ 2/1
Seeing as I am confident that both teams will find the net on Wednesday, I think over 3.5 goals could be a valuable selection as well. There have been at least four goals scored in three of PSG's five fixtures in this competition so far and in all of them Les Parisiens scored at least four themselves.
One of them did come away and that was against Bayer Leverkusen as they won 7-2, so this may make Bilbao slightly nervous in the build-up to kick-off. Over 3.5 goals was also a winning selection when the hosts defeated Qarabag 3-1 here on October 22.
