Barcelona vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction: Back a BIG Home Win

Barcelona are surprisingly all the way down in 18th in the Champions League but they do have three of their 'easier' games remaining as they look to push for a top-eight spot. On Tuesday night then face Eintracht Frankfurt, who currently sit outside the play-off places. TNT Sports 4 will show the game live with kick-off scheduled for 20:00.

Match Preview:
Barcelona have plenty of work to do if they want to secure a top-eight finish in the initial phase of the Champions League. Nothing short of three points will do when they host Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday night.
Hansi Flick's team may need to win all of their remaining games to stay in the hunt for direct passage into the round of 16. They've already suffered defeats against PSG and Chelsea in this competition, while a 3-3 draw away to Club Brugge was also a damaging result.
There has been plenty to encourage Barça fans in recent weeks, though. They've won five out of six in all competitions, and have turned a five-point deficit into a four-point advantage at the top of La Liga, largely thanks to Real Madrid's poor form.
The Catalans put in perhaps their most complete performance of the campaign last week when they beat Atlético Madrid 3-1 at home. With Pedri fit again and pulling the strings in midfield, they bossed the game against one of their main domestic rivals, and were worthy of a two-goal winning margin.
A trip to Real Betis followed on Saturday. For the fourth game in a row, Barcelona fell behind early on, with Antony firing home after only six minutes. However, they've made a habit of responding quickly after conceding early goals since Flick took charge in 2024, and this match was certainly no exception.
A hat-trick from Ferran Torres and an excellent strike from youngster Roony Bardghji ensured that Barça were 4-1 up, with the game as good as won, by the break. They went on to seal a 5-3 victory, and Flick would have been delighted that he didn't even need to bring Raphinha or Robert Lewandowski off the bench in what had the potential to be a tough fixture.
Their free-scoring ways should ensure this is a long night for an unconvincing Eintracht Frankfurt defence. The Germans have already conceded five on two occasions in this Champions League campaign, with both Atlético Madrid and Liverpool putting them to the sword.
Dino Toppmöller's side did score five themselves on matchday one against Galatasaray. However, they've only picked up one point since then in the competition, and defeat here would leave them most likely heading for an early exit.
Eintracht warmed up for this game in the worst possible fashion, with a thumping 6-0 defeat away to RB Leipzig. There are normally goals wherever they go, and Die Adler have been scoring plenty themselves this term too, with only Bayern Munich netting more frequently in the Bundesliga.
That should be the recipe for a very watchable contest at Camp Nou, between two teams who both have clear defensive flaws. Both press high and try to win the ball back in advanced areas, but there should be plenty of space for the attacking players on each side to thrive in.
Team News:
The big injury setback over the past week for Barcelona has been the loss of Dani Olmo to a shoulder injury. That led to Lamine Yamal starting in the number 10 role against Betis, with Bardghji coming into the side and impressing on the right flank. However, Fermín López may come in to occupy the advanced midfield position in this game.
Raphinha and Lewandowski are also likely to rotate in, with Flick currently blessed with plenty of attacking options. That's not the case in other areas of the pitch, with Gavi and Marc-André ter Stegen both long-term absentees, while Ronald Araújo is suspended.
As for Eintracht Frankfurt, they lost forward Michy Batshuayi to an injury in the weekend defeat against Leipzig. The Belgian is not expected to play any part at Camp Nou. That adds to their attacking issues, given top scorer Jonathan Burkardt is already sidelined.
In better news for the visitors, midfielders Can Uzun and Hugo Larsson have returned to fitness and should feature in this match.
Barcelona vs Eintracht Frankfurt Predicted Lineups
- Barcelona: J. Garcia, Kounde, Martin, Cubarsi, Balde, De Jong, Pedri, Yamal, Fermin, Raphinha, Lewandowski
- Eintracht Frankfurt: Zetterer, Kristensen, Koch, Brown, Theate, Dahoud, Chaibi, Gotze, Doan, Bahoya, Knauff
Match Odds:
Barcelona are the red-hot favourites to win at 1/7. You can back the Draw at 7/1, while Eintracht Frankfurt are priced at 12/1 to record a surprise win.
They did claim a famous 3-2 win when they last visited Barcelona in 2022 for a Europa League tie, and you can back Over 4.5 goals to land again at 11/8. The visitors are also available at 10/3 to score over 1.5 goals.
Barça are a much better side now than was the case three years ago. You can back the home team to score over 3.5 goals in this match at 5/4, while Barcelona and Both teams to score is priced at 23/20. The hosts are also on offer at 19/20 to win both halves.
Lewandowski leads the way as the 11/4 favourite to score first. He's also priced at 5/2 to score two or more goals.
Alternative options in the Anytime Goalscorer market include Raphinha at 4/5, Lamine Yamal at 5/6, and Fermín at 23/20. From a visiting perspective, Uzun is priced at 4/1, while you can back Jessic Ngankam to get on the scoresheet at 9/2.

Barcelona vs Eintracht Frankfurt Stats
- This is their first Champions League clash. They have played in the Europa League, where Eintracht Frankfurt won 2-3 in the Camp Nou.
- Only Ajax (7.2) have a lower Shots/90 ratio than Eintracht Frankfurt (7.4)
Bet 1 - Barcelona -2.00 Handicap @ 1/1
It's hard to see any outcome other than a home win. Barcelona cannot afford to take this game anything but seriously, and they have fresh legs and quality to bring into the side after an easier-than-expected weekend trip to Seville.
The Catalans have scored at least three goals in seven of their last eight matches in all competitions. They are really firing in the final third, and should have too much quality for what will be a demoralised Eintracht backline following their heavy defeat on Saturday.
Chances should come the way of the visiting team too. Barcelona always take risks and leave space behind their defensive line, but with injury problems up front, there's no guarantee the Germans will make the most of those opportunities.
Given that, I'm expecting another heavy defeat for Toppmöller's team, and I'm backing Barcelona -2.00 Handicap at 1/1.
Bet 2 - Over 1.5 first-half goals & Over 17.5 Barcelona shots @ 13/10
If Eintracht Frankfurt are going to score in this game, their goal may well come early. Barcelona have conceded inside 30 minutes in each of their last four matches, but they are also scoring freely in the opening stages. Flick's side have netted seven first-half goals in their three games since they lost to Chelsea in their last Champions League fixture.
Raphinha is the player who often sets the tempo with his aggressive pressing, and the Brazilian's return should ensure that Barça play with energy from the first whistle. They ought to pepper the visiting goal across the 90 minutes, and the hosts have registered 18 or more shots in five of their last seven games.
Given that, I'm using the Bet Builder to back Over 1.5 first-half goals and Over 17.5 Barcelona shots at 13/10.
