Tottenham Hotspur vs Slavia Prague Prediction: Back Spurs to win in two ways

After a much needed home win in the Premier League on Saturday, Tottenham will now be looking to reignite their bid for a top eight finish in the Champions League. A bid that was dented in highly entertaining fashion during Matchday 5 when they lost 5-3 to holders PSG.
Standing in their way of back-to-back home wins in all competitions is Czech outfit Slavia Prague and whereas Spurs need a win to boost their hopes of automatic progress, tonight's visitors need to collect a maximum in order to keep faints hopes of a play-off invite alive. Dan Tracey previews the action and gives us his Tottenham Hotspur vs Slavia Prague Predictions...

With this being the easier of Tottenham's three remaining Champions League outings, manager Thomas Frank will be tempted to change the pack after the 2-0 win at home to Brentford. Not only because the fixture computer has been favourable to Spurs but also because of a busy month ahead.
This could mean that the trusted defensive deputy Kevin Danso comes back in for Micky van de Ven, the Austrian seems to be a steady hand when called upon. While further forward, this could also be an opportunity for Wilson Odobert to start out wide in a bid to earn additional minutes.
Tottenham on Tuesday. Teplice last Friday. Jindřich Trpišovský's men seemingly well rested before their trip to London and although the difficulty curve within Czech football's top tier is far smoother than when dicing with Europe's elite, their 2-1 win at the back of last week will have furthered recent momentum.
Unbeaten in their current 1.Liga campaign, Slavia have a five-point gap over crosstown rivals Sparta – a margin of error that has been crafted thanks to the goals of Tomas Chory and Mojmir Chytil. The attacking duo having scored 14 combined league strikes and both will be expected to start this evening.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Slavia Prague Stats
- Tottenham are unbeaten in each of their four meetings with Slavia Prague (W3 D1)
- Slavia Prague are yet to win in this season's edition of the Champions League
Tottenham Win and Over 3.5 Goals @ 5/2
With the odds favouring a Tottenham win, that in itself is not enough for me to back Spurs before they get their sixth Champions League outing of the season underway. To add further meat on to the bones of all three points, I also anticipate another goal feast in N17 in a tournament that has been full of goals thus far.
Using their comfortable win over Copenhagen in Matchday 4 as the example, I think Slavia Prague could be in for a long evening. That night saw the Danes lose 4-0 but with Spurs' propensity to concede, a consolation goal for the visitors would do no harm if Thomas Frank's men scored three.

Tottenham To Win Both Halves @ 11/5
A relatively comfortable win for the hosts tonight in my eyes, mirrored by getting on the front foot early on. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium does seem to reserve a special roar for European nights and this seemingly gives Spurs the impetus from the off.
A win for Tottenham already selected in my first tip, I think they will turn the screw against Slavia and make them toil across the course of 90 minutes. Therefore, I think if you want to find further value in a home win, backing them to do so in both halves is the way forward.
