Trinidad & Tobago vs Jamaica Prediction: All square between Yorke’s Soca Warriors and McClaren’s Reggae Boyz

We're getting to crunch time in Group B of the North & Central America World Cup qualifiers, with three teams - Jamaica, Curacao and Trinidad & Tobago - all still in with a chance of finishing first, which would book their ticket to next year's finals in Canada, Mexico and the USA, or second, which could see them advance to the inter-confederation play-offs as one of the two best-ranked runners-up.
Jamaica, currently top of the standings on nine points, head to the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain on Friday (00:00 GMT) to take on hosts Trinidad & Tobago, who are third on five points. Below are my Trinidad & Tobago vs Jamaica predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
New York Red Bulls' Roald Mitchell is one of the new additions to Dwight Yorke's Trinidad & Tobago squad, along with Lindel Sween and Daniel David.
Crystal Palace full-back Rio Cardines, who starred in his country's 1-1 draw in Curacao last month, is injured and has been replaced in camp by Isaiah Garcia.
As for Jamaica, head coach Steve McClaren, who was assistant manager at Manchester United when Yorke & Co. won the treble in 1999, has called up Brentford left-back Rico Henry, who is looking to make his international debut.
Hull City midfielder Kasey Palmer, who was left out of the initial squad, is being monitored by Jamaica's technical staff in case he recovers for next week's game against Curacao.
The same can be said for on-loan AS Roma winger Leon Bailey, who hasn't played for his country since the Gold Cup in June.
McClaren said: “So what I’ve said to Leon is that we will stay in touch, he will do his rehab in Rome and if he’s any near to fitness for the second game, we’ll definitely fly him over and get him involved in the second game — he wants that.”
Trinidad & Tobago vs Jamaica Predicted Lineups
- Trinidad & Tobago: Smith; Payne, Trimmingham, Henry, Jackie, Raymond; Sealy, Rampersad, Phillips, Molino; Garcia

Trinidad & Tobago vs Jamaica Odds
These two teams have met four times already this year, with Jamaica winning three times, including September's World Cup qualifier in Kingston. The Reggae Boyz are 19/20, or a 51.3% chance, to claim a fourth victory of 2025 over Trinidad & Tobago, who are 9/4 (30.8%) to chalk up a first success in this head-to-head since March 2023.
A second stalemate of the calendar year is priced at 11/5, while both teams to score, a winning selection in half (two) of the last four meetings, is available at 4/5.
Suriname vs El Salvador Stats
- Under 2.5 goals has landed in five of the last six H2Hs
- TTO have drawn four of their last six games
- JAM drew 0-0 on their last trip to TTO (Mar 2024)
Total Goals - Under 2.5 @ 4/5
This is a huge game for Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica, with both sides probably needing to win to achieve their respective aims.
A defeat for the hosts would rule them out of a first-place finish, and if Curacao avoid defeat in Bermuda, a second-place finish, too.
Jamaica, meanwhile, will be expecting Curacao to beat whipping boys Bermuda, and if that's the case, they will need to win on Friday to stay above their Group B rivals heading into next Wednesday's showdown clash in Kingston.
However, while both sides will be going for all three points, you can bet that if one goes in front, the other will bunker down, trying to steal a 1-0 win.
Both teams are missing key players, Jamaica particularly in attack, with no Palmer or Bailey.
The Reggae Boyz have beaten Bermuda 4-0 home and away, but their other two games saw exactly two goals scored as they beat Trinidad & Tobago 2-0 in Kingston, and lost 2-0 to Curacao in Willemstad.
The Soca Warriors, meanwhile, have seen just one of their qualifiers finish with over 2.5 goals - a 3-0 win in Bermuda on October 10; their only home match so far finished goalless against Curacao on September 6.
Under 2.5 goals has been a winning bet in five of the last six head-to-heads, so I'm happy to back that outcome again on Friday at just under EVS.

Match Result - Draw @ 11/5
This result would be far from ideal for either side, but it's something I can see happening.
Trinidad & Tobago have drawn four of their last six games, including both World Cup qualifiers against Curacao.
Jamaica haven't experienced a stalemate in their last nine matches, and have beaten Trinidad & Tobago three times already this year, but two of those victories came on home soil, and the other on neutral ground at Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium in west London, England.
On their last trip to Trinidad & Tobago, in March last year, Jamaica were held to a goalless draw. Having failed to score in their last away game in Curacao (also 0-0), you wonder whether that scoreline is possible again on Friday.
You can back 0-0 in the Correct Score market at 8/1, but I'll play things a bit safer and plump for a draw at 11/5.
